Apparis Review: Faux Fur Coats, Sizing, Shipping Costs and the Return Rules to Read First
Apparis is an outerwear label that sells animal-free faux fur coats, vests, capes and slippers online, along with a smaller line of knitwear, kids' coats and home pieces. Its about page says the brand launched in 2018, founded by the French duo Amelie Brick and Lauren Nouchi. Most women's coats cost $245 to $745, accessories such as stoles, capes and keychains run from about $45 to $345, and standard shipping is free on domestic orders over $200.

Fabrics, fit and sizing
Product pages are fairly detailed, and these are the points that differ most between styles:
- Faux fur type. Apparis names its fabrics. PLUCHE is described as a compact, velvety faux fur made from 100% recycled fibers; FAUX MINK has a longer, fuller pile; "Mongolian" faux fur is long and shaggy; shaved mink and bouclette give a flatter or curlier texture.
- Recycled content varies. The Brooks Coat lists a 100% recycled polyester body and a lining of 50% recycled and 50% virgin polyester. The Solange Mongolian Maxi Coat lists a 100% polyester body (not described as recycled) with a recycled lining. Read the composition line on each page if recycled content matters to you.
- Not every piece is fur-free. Product pages carry an "Animal free" badge, but the Judie Wool Coat ($495) is 100% double-faced wool with faux mink cuffs, so check the materials if you avoid all animal fibers.
- Fit notes. Each page states a fit, such as "Regular fit" or "Relaxed fit", and recommends taking your normal size. Models are listed as 5'9" wearing size small.
- Size range. Women's coats run XXS to XXL. The size chart maps XXS to US 00–0 and XXL to US 14–16, with bust measurements from 31–32 inches up to 44–45 inches. Each product page also has a garment measurement chart (chest, waist, sleeve, length and sweep).
- Closures. Zips, snaps and hook-and-eye closures all appear. Hook-and-eye fronts look clean but are less windproof than a zip.
Care labels generally say to dry clean with any solvent except trichloroethylene and to wash sparingly. The FAQ notes that new pieces can shed a little and suggests brushing loose fibers with a natural-fiber brush and storing the coat in its garment bag.

Shipping
The shipping policy and FAQ give these terms for online orders:
- Contiguous US: free standard UPS Ground on orders over $200; $10 for orders under $200; UPS 2nd Day Air for $89.
- Processing: usually 24–48 hours, but up to 5 business days from October to January. Orders placed after 2pm ET on Friday or over the weekend start processing on Monday, and nothing ships on weekends or major US holidays.
- Delivery time: the FAQ estimates 3–10 business days after shipping by UPS Ground.
- Hawaii and Puerto Rico: no free shipping; the FAQ lists $25 under $250 and $45 over $250.
- Restrictions: no PO boxes, APO or FPO addresses. The shipping address must match the billing address, and Apparis will not reroute a package once it ships.
- Insurance: standard shipping is not insured, and the FAQ says Apparis is not responsible for packages lost or damaged in transit.
Apparis also ships to Canada and, according to its shipping and returns page, internationally. Canadian rates are stated differently on two pages (one in US dollars, one in Canadian dollars), so check the total at checkout.
Returns and exchanges
The Returns & Exchanges page, linked from the footer, gives 30 days from delivery to request a refund. After approval you have 7 days to send the item back, and it must be unworn, with all tags attached and in its original packaging. Refunds are processed within about 5 business days of approval. Exchanges for another size or style ship free, and damaged or missing orders must be reported to hello@apparis.com within 72 hours of delivery, with photos.
Two rules matter more than the window itself:
- Items bought in the Online Sample Sale are final sale, with no returns or exchanges.
- Items discounted 25% or more, including through a discount code or the Black Friday sale, can only be exchanged or returned for store credit, not refunded to your card.
Be aware that the separate refund policy page in the site's legal section still describes an older version: 14 days, a $12 restocking fee, original shipping not refunded and a holiday window that refers to January 2024. Because the two pages conflict, screenshot the policy that applies when you order and confirm with customer service (Monday to Friday, 10am–6pm ET) if you are unsure.
