Craft Hub Review: Book Nooks, Wooden Puzzles and Fandom Painting Kits, and the Return Rules

Craft Hub is an online craft-kit store that, according to its About page, was started in Bangkok, Thailand in 2020 by two e-commerce entrepreneurs who began by selling wooden puzzles during the COVID-19 lockdowns. Today the store sells DIY book nooks, wooden and acrylic jigsaw puzzles, 3D wooden puzzle night lamps, diamond painting and paint-by-numbers kits, plus punch needle and crochet kits. A large share of the range carries film and TV themes such as Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, Wicked, Friends and DC characters, which the site groups under licensed "Collaborations". Prices are in US dollars, and most kits cost between about $20 and $100.

This review covers what Craft Hub sells, what the kits include, prices, shipping, the return rules and the VIP membership that is promoted across the site.

At a glance Checked October 2026

Craft Hub suits adults who want a fandom-themed project such as a Hogwarts book nook or a Lord of the Rings painting kit, delivered to the US, UK, Canada or Australia. The main catch is that opened or used kits cannot be returned for a refund, you pay return shipping, and some collections are marked as a final closing sale.

  • Best for: Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings fans, gift buyers, and adults who want a relaxing multi-evening build or painting project.
  • Typical price: Paint by numbers $24.99–$42.99, diamond painting $21.99–$31.99, book nooks $69.99–$99.99, wooden jigsaws $3.99–$54.99 depending on size.
  • Shipping: Dispatched in 1–3 business days; 6–9 business days to the US, 7–12 to the UK and Canada, 7–14 to Australia. Shipping cost is calculated at checkout.
  • Returns: Unused items in original packaging within 30 days of delivery (one product page says 60 days); you pay return shipping. Damaged or missing pieces are replaced.
  • Watch out for: A VIP membership with a 14-day free trial that then costs $9.99 a month, and large "compare at" prices that make discounts look bigger than they may be.

What Craft Hub sells

The catalogue is large, with more than 100 paint-by-numbers listings alone. The main groups are:

  • DIY book nooks. Wooden kits that build into a scene that slots between books on a shelf, including licensed Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings designs and original ones like Wonder Library and Christmas Shop.
  • Paint by numbers. Numbered canvas kits with pre-mixed paints and brushes, mostly licensed fantasy scenes, plus a custom kit made from your own photo.
  • Diamond painting. Canvases you cover in tiny resin "drills", in licensed and original designs.
  • Jigsaw puzzles. Wooden puzzles with irregular animal-shaped pieces in A5 to A2 sizes, and acrylic suncatcher puzzles.
  • 3D DIY lamps and 3D wooden and metal puzzles. Small layered wooden night lamps and model kits.
  • Fiber crafts. Punch needle and crochet kits, plus bundle gift sets.

The Great Hall book nook has 534 pieces and costs $89.99, or $99.99 with a hammer and glue included.

What the kits include

Product pages list the following; these are the store's descriptions rather than our own testing:

  • Book nooks. Piece counts and finished sizes are listed for each kit, for example 534 pieces and about 7.6 x 4.3 x 10.6 inches for the Great Hall, or 237 pieces for Diagon Alley. Some licensed kits are sold with or without a hammer and glue. The original designs list assembly times of 6–12 hours, a difficulty of 3.5–4 out of 5 and an age guide of 14+.
  • Paint by numbers. A linen-blend canvas, pre-mixed acrylic paints, four wooden brushes, a reference sheet and a quick-start guide. Canvases are around 16 x 20 to 18 x 24 inches, and some designs offer a DIY wood frame option. Several kit descriptions contain copied text about "laser-cut wood" puzzles, so rely on the variant name and photos for the size.
  • Diamond painting. A sticky fabric canvas, 2.8mm round drills with 10–50% extra, a stylus, wax, a tray and glue. Diamond counts range from about 24,000 to 37,000 depending on the design.
  • Wooden jigsaws. Piece counts from about 43 (A5) to over 500 (A2), with optional wooden gift boxes and mounting kits.

Prices

Prices are in US dollars, and almost every product shows a much higher "compare at" price; treat the selling price as the real one. Examples at the time of writing:

  • Paint by numbers: $26.99–$33.99 unframed, $42.99 with a DIY wood frame; custom photo kit $24.99 or $34.99 framed
  • Diamond painting: $21.99–$31.99
  • Book nooks: $69.99–$99.99; a three-kit Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings set is $199.99
  • 3D wooden puzzle night lamps: $34.99
  • Wooden jigsaws: from $3.99 (A5) to $54.99 (A2 with wooden box and mounting kit)
  • Acrylic suncatcher puzzles: mostly $19.99–$29.90

Shipping

According to the shipping policy, orders are dispatched from Craft Hub's warehouse within 1–3 business days (one product page says two business days). Listed delivery times are 6–9 business days to the US, 7–12 to the UK, Canada and Europe, 7–14 to Australia and 7–15 elsewhere. Every order is sent with tracking. The policy does not state shipping prices or a free-shipping threshold, so the cost appears at checkout, and some countries may charge customs and import fees. The warehouse location is not given.

Returns and replacements

The refund policy accepts returns reported within 30 days of delivery, as long as the item is unused, in the same condition and in its original packaging with tags. Items that have been opened and used, or ordered by mistake (wrong model, quantity or type), are not refunded. You pay return shipping, and that cost is not refunded. There is no published return address; you email support@craft-hub.com, ship to the address they give, and send proof of shipment. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method within 2–7 working days.

For craft kits the more useful promise is the replacement one: the policy says Craft Hub "will replace the item should you experience any damage, missing piece, or poor craftsmanship". Count pieces and paint pots when the kit arrives and report problems well within 30 days. Note that one product page mentions a 60-day return policy, which does not match the 30 days in the policy itself.

The Custom Paint by Numbers kit turns your own photo into a roughly 16 x 20-inch canvas for $24.99, or $34.99 with a frame.

The VIP membership

The site promotes a "VIP Elite" membership with a 14-day free trial, after which it is listed at $9.99 a month. Members are promised 30% off orders, 10% cash back as store credit, two eBooks, early access and giveaway entries. The page says you can cancel "anytime" from your account or by contacting support, and offers a "30-Day Happiness Guarantee" with a full refund if you cancel within 30 days. It only makes sense if you order regularly, so set a reminder before the trial ends if you sign up.

Who should buy from Craft Hub

  • Fans of Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings and Wicked who want a themed project rather than a generic kit.
  • Gift buyers looking for a $25–$100 present for an adult hobbyist.
  • Adults new to crafts who like structured projects with everything in the box.

Think twice if you want the freedom to return a kit after opening it, or if you need a gift by a fixed date, since delivery can take up to two weeks outside the US.

Craft Hub coupon codes and deals

We did not find a verified public coupon code at the time of writing, and we do not publish codes we cannot confirm. The savings you can see on the site are its own sale prices, a clearance collection, bundle gift sets, and a "Collection Closing Sale - Final Run" on paint-by-numbers kits; the VIP membership adds a members-only discount for a monthly fee. Any working offers we find are listed on our Craft Hub coupons page.

Frequently asked questions

Is Craft Hub legit?

Craft Hub publishes its founding story (Bangkok, 2020), a written shipping policy with tracking on every order, a refund policy with a replacement promise for damaged or missing pieces, and a support email, support@craft-hub.com. Checkout lists PayPal, Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna, Afterpay and major cards, and licensed product images carry rights-holder marks. It does not publish a company address or phone number. The main things to check are the return conditions for opened kits and the terms of the VIP trial.

Does Craft Hub ship to the UK, Canada and Australia?

Yes. The shipping policy lists 7–12 business days to the UK and Canada and 7–14 to Australia, and warns that some countries may charge import fees.

Can I return a Craft Hub kit?

Only if it is unused and in its original packaging, reported within 30 days of delivery, and you pay the return shipping. Opened and used kits are not refunded, but damaged or missing pieces are replaced.

Are Craft Hub book nooks hard to build?

The original designs are rated 3.5 to 4 out of 5 for difficulty, with 6–12 hours of assembly and an age guide of 14+. Licensed kits list piece counts of about 240 to 530.

How do I cancel Craft Hub VIP?

The membership page says you can cancel from your account or by emailing support@craft-hub.com or messaging the brand on Facebook or Instagram.

The bottom line

Craft Hub offers a wide, fandom-heavy range of book nooks, painting kits and wooden puzzles at sensible sale prices, with tracked shipping to the main English-speaking markets. Buy knowing that opened kits cannot be returned, return postage is yours, and the VIP trial turns into a monthly charge if you forget to cancel.
