CPX Pickleball Review: Paddle Specs, Prices, 90-Day Returns and the Lifetime Warranty

CPX Pickleball is a Chicago-based paddle brand, founded in 2023 according to its website, that sells carbon fiber pickleball paddles direct to players, along with balls, grips, bags and apparel. Its six main paddle lines run from $99.97 for the Air and Pro to about $300 for premium Ultra colorways, with the flagship Hyper+ listed at $150 on pre-order.

This review covers the paddle lineup and the specs CPX publishes, prices, shipping from Chicago, the 90-day return policy and the optional lifetime warranty, which is one of the brand's main selling points.

At a glance Checked October 2026

CPX suits US players who want a carbon fiber paddle with published specs and a long return window, bought direct rather than through a pro shop. The brand states that every paddle in its lineup is USA Pickleball approved, and it lists the Ultra as PBCoR 43 certified. The main things to check are which spec sheet you are reading, since a few figures differ between pages, and the fact that you pay return shipping.

  • Best for: Recreational to competitive players choosing between a thick control paddle, a thin power paddle and a foam-core flagship.
  • Typical price: $99.97 (Air, Pro) to $199.97 (Hyper, Ultra Launch Edition); Max $159.97–$199.97; Hyper+ $150 pre-order or $199.97 in stock.
  • Shipping: Free standard US shipping on orders of $30 or more; Express $9.97; Overnight $49.97; ships from Chicago.
  • Returns: Request a return within 90 days of receiving the item; the brand lists a full refund with no restocking fee, but you pay return shipping.
  • Watch out for: Demo paddles are final sale, gift cards are non-returnable, and pre-order ship times differ between pages.

What CPX Pickleball sells

The store listed about 40 products when we checked. Paddles are the core of the range:

  • Hyper+, the flagship, with what CPX calls a patent-pending Hyperfoam X full foam core, in 16mm or 14mm and in elongated or widebody shapes. Limited Ghost and Lemon Drop colorways are sold on pre-order.
  • Hyper, a 16mm honeycomb version on the same chassis as the Hyper+, developed with Terrell Owens.
  • Ultra, a 16mm aramid and carbon fiber unibody in several colorways.
  • Max, a 14mm elongated, thermoformed power paddle.
  • Pro, a 19mm honeycomb control paddle the brand calls its best seller.
  • Air, a 16mm honeycomb paddle the brand recommends for beginners.
  • Signature paddles with NHL Hall of Famer Chris Chelios (a Max, $189.97) and NFL Hall of Famer Terrell Owens ($229.97).
  • Other paddles: the CPX Mini for kids ($29.97), a Starter Set with two Air paddles, two covers and eight outdoor balls ($139.97), an Elite Padel paddle ($149.97), demo paddles and a Mystery Paddle.

Accessories include CPX40 outdoor balls, overgrips and replacement grips ($9.97), edge guard tape ($9.97), lead tape strips ($14.97), paddle covers ($14.97), Reflex glasses ($39.97), a Club Sport backpack ($169.97), hats, tees and hoodies. A paddle quiz on the site asks seven questions to suggest a model.

Paddle specs: core thickness, weight and approval

CPX publishes a spec table on each paddle page. These are the figures the brand lists:

  • Pro ($99.97–$119.97): 19mm polypropylene honeycomb core (6mm cell) with foam-injected walls; raw 3K carbon fiber face; static weight 235 g (about 8.3 oz); 15.94 x 7.67 in; 4.84 in handle; 4.1 in grip circumference. Includes a neoprene cover, edge tape and keychain.
  • Air ($99.97): 16mm polymer honeycomb core; T700 raw carbon fiber face; 8.4 oz; 7.48 in wide; 5.71 in handle; 4.21 in grip.
  • Max ($159.97–$199.97): 14mm polypropylene honeycomb core (6mm cell); T700 carbon fiber face with a textured friction finish; elongated, thermoformed unibody; 16.52 x 7.48 in; 8.2 oz; 4.92 in handle; 4.21 in grip.
  • Ultra ($199.97–$299.97): 16mm core with three foam rings around a honeycomb center; aramid and carbon fiber thermoformed unibody; 8.2 oz; 7.48 in wide; 4.92 in handle; 4.21 in grip; listed as PBCoR 43 certified.
  • Hyper ($199.97): 16mm polypropylene honeycomb core with foam reinforcement (8mm cell); three layers of T700 raw carbon fiber per face; rectangle shape.
  • Hyper+ ($150 pre-order): full foam thermoformed core in 16mm or 14mm; raw carbon fiber face; static weight 225 g (about 7.9 oz); 140mm handle; elongated or widebody.

On approval, CPX states that every paddle in its lineup is "USA Pickleball approved" and cleared for sanctioned tournament play, and the Hyper+ page says the approval stamp is printed on the face. The Ultra and the Terrell Owens Ultra Signature are the models the brand lists as PBCoR 43 certified. We did not cross-check each model against USA Pickleball's own approved paddle list, so tournament players should confirm the exact model there before an event.

The brand's own guidance on thickness: the 19mm Pro is pitched at touch and control at the kitchen line, the 14mm Max at players who already drive the ball, and the 16mm Ultra as the all-around middle. The Max page says thicker cores are more forgiving and points newer players to the Pro, while the Air page says the Air is the paddle CPX recommends most often for beginners.

CPX also sells two-paddle "BOGO" bundle listings for the Pro and the Max, and a $499.97 Black Label membership that the brand says includes lifetime warranty coverage on every CPX paddle you own, a new paddle each year and 40% off the store. Optional shipping protection is added at checkout for $3.49 to $7.95.

Shipping

Orders ship from the brand's Chicago warehouse. The shipping policy says in-stock orders placed before 3 p.m. Central on a business day ship the same day; product pages say most continental US orders arrive in one to two business days after dispatch.

  • Standard: free on US orders of $30 or more
  • Express: $9.97
  • Overnight: $49.97, with next-day delivery on orders placed by 6 p.m. Central, per the policy
  • International: Canada, the UK, Europe, Australia and other countries, from $19.97 at checkout. Duties and taxes are not addressed in the policy.

Pre-orders ship on the timeline shown on each product page. The Hyper+ page says red, green and widebody pre-orders ship within seven days and the Ghost and Lemon Drop within one to two weeks, but the homepage and an older listing say about two to three weeks, so allow for the longer estimate if you need the paddle by a certain date.

Returns and warranty

CPX advertises a 90-day money-back guarantee. The refund policy sets out the details:

  • Window: 90 days after you receive the item to request a return.
  • Approval first: email info@cpxpickleball.com with your order number; returns sent without approval are not accepted.
  • Condition: include the original box and sleeve.
  • Cost: paddle pages list a full refund with no restocking fee, but you pay return shipping, including on pre-orders.
  • Not returnable: gift cards, and demo paddles, which are listed as final sale. The policy says a severely damaged paddle may be declined if no lifetime warranty was bought.
  • Exchanges: return the item and place a new order, or ask for a credit for the price difference.
  • Refund timing: to the original payment method within 10 business days of approval.

Every paddle carries a warranty against manufacturing defects; the length of that standard warranty is not stated. The optional Lifetime Warranty costs $29.97 per paddle ($59.97 for two, up to $119.97 for four) and, according to its page, covers replacement for any reason, including wear, a dead face or a cracked core, with no limit on replacements and a photo plus order number to claim. It is included with the Hyper+. The warranty page says it can be added to a paddle you already own, while the refund policy says it can only be bought at the time of sale, so confirm with CPX before relying on adding it later.

Who should buy from CPX Pickleball

  • Players comparing core thickness who want 19mm, 16mm and 14mm options from one brand with published weights and grip sizes.
  • Beginners looking at the $99.97 Air or Pro, or the $139.97 two-paddle Starter Set.
  • Players hard on paddles who value a replace-for-any-reason warranty and are willing to pay $29.97 for it, or get it included with the Hyper+.

Look elsewhere if you want to handle a paddle in a shop before buying, need free return shipping, or are buying a demo paddle you may want to send back.

The bottom line

CPX Pickleball offers a clear range of carbon fiber paddles from $99.97, with published core thicknesses, weights and grip sizes, same-day dispatch from Chicago and free US shipping over $30. The 90-day return window is long, but you pay the return postage, demo paddles are final sale, and a few specs and pre-order dates differ between pages.
