At a glance Checked October 2026
Akool suits marketers, creators and teams who want face swap, avatar videos and video translation in one credit-based subscription. The free plan lets you try the tools but adds a full-screen watermark and caps video at 720p. Paid plans remove the watermark, and yearly billing lowers the monthly price on Pro and above. Starter, Pro and Pro Max are labeled with a personal license on the pricing page; the Business plan carries a business license.
- Best for: Marketing and training teams producing avatar or translated videos, and creators who want many AI video tools under one account.
- Typical price: Free; Starter $12/month (200 credits); Pro $30/month or $21/month billed yearly; Pro Max $59/month or $41.30/month billed yearly; Business $249/month or $174.30/month billed yearly.
- Refunds: first paid subscription only, within 7 days, and only if no paid credits have been used on a completed task.
- Watch out for: credits expire at the end of each billing period, renewals are non-refundable, and you are responsible for having permission to use anyone's face or voice.
What Akool does
Akool groups its tools into a few families:
- Swap tools: face swap, head swap, character swap, motion swap, hair swap and clothing swap for photos and videos, plus live face swap for streams and meetings. The homepage lists these from about 2 to 6 credits per use and up.
- Avatars: stock avatars, photo avatars and custom "instant" avatars that read a script you type, plus streaming avatars that can hold a real-time conversation using a knowledge base.
- Video translation: dubbing into 155+ languages with lip-sync, captions and, on higher plans, a proofreading editor.
- Generation: text-to-video, image-to-video and image generation using a mix of Akool's own and third-party models; the model list on the site includes names such as Kling, Seedance, Wan, Google Veo and Sora.
- Audio: voice cloning, text to speech and a voice changer.
- Business tools: PowerPoint or PDF to video, video campaigns and an API.
Akool's site promotes "300M+ asset creations" and "trusted by Fortune 500 companies". These are the company's own statements. Output quality depends on the source footage, lighting and model, so try the free plan before committing.

Plans and pricing
Prices are in US dollars and are per seat. The pricing page listed these plans at the time of writing:
- Free ($0): full-screen watermark, slow processing, 5 GB storage, avatar video up to 720p and 10 minutes, one custom instant avatar, face swap uploads up to 720p and 150 MB or 30 seconds, and 5 text-to-speech uses in total. The page did not state how many free credits you get.
- Starter ($12 per month, 200 credits): no watermark, up to 1080p and 15-minute videos, all face swap models, personal license, medium processing speed. The yearly option is shown as $144 a year, which works out to the same $12 a month.
- Pro ($30 per month, or $21 per month billed yearly at $252; 600 credits): up to 4K and 30-minute videos, video translation proofreading, pro templates, the option to buy extra credit packs, personal license, fast processing.
- Pro Max ($59 per month, or $41.30 per month billed yearly at $495.60; 1,200 credits): longer videos, API access, workspace collaboration and studio voice features, personal license.
- Business ($249 per month, or $174.30 per month billed yearly at $2,091.60; 6,000 credits): one fine-tuned studio avatar, the highest concurrency, 1 TB storage, and a business license.
- Enterprise (custom): credits that do not expire, SSO, dedicated resources, account management and an enterprise license.
Some plan cards offer larger credit tiers at higher prices, and add-ons sell extra credits and concurrency. The table indicates that the newest Seedance video model is fully available only from Pro Max up, so check model access before paying for a specific model.
Two cost details are easy to miss. Credits are spent per task at different rates per tool and model, so 200 credits can go quickly with premium video models. And each admin or editor you invite to a workspace is charged the same rate the owner pays, so two editors on a $30 Pro plan means paying for three seats.
Key features and limits
- Watermarks: the Free plan adds a full-screen watermark; every paid plan removes it.
- License: the pricing table lists Starter, Pro and Pro Max with a "personal" license and Business with a "business" license. The terms of service separately say you may use the output you generate for any lawful purpose if you follow the agreement. Because the two are not explained side by side, ask Akool in writing before using output from a personal-license plan in paid marketing.
- Stock avatars: the terms say Akool's stock avatars are based on real actors, and without Akool's written consent they cannot be used in promoted or paid social ads, TV broadcasts, NFTs, or videos where the avatar states opinions or speaks on sensitive topics such as politics or religion.

Responsible use: consent, likeness and disclosure
Face swap and voice cloning raise obvious questions about consent. Akool's own documents set these rules:
- You must be at least 18 to use the service.
- The content moderation policy bans sexual content and nudity, including non-consensual nudity and sexualized deepfakes, as well as content that "misrepresents, impersonates, or harms individuals, celebrities, or brands", harassment, and political misinformation.
- The terms ban using the service to mislead, including passing off AI-generated content as made by a human in order to deceive, and Akool asks users to tell viewers when content was produced with AI.
- The terms say some places legally protect a person's image and likeness from commercial use without a release, and that you alone are responsible for deciding whether you need a release and for getting one.
- Akool says it uses automated and human review and may suspend accounts that break the rules.
In practice: only swap or clone faces and voices you have clear, preferably written, permission to use, label AI content, and do not use real people's likeness in ads without a release.
Cancellation, refunds and billing
Akool's refund and cancellation policy, updated in October 2026, says:
- Subscriptions renew automatically. You can cancel at any time under "Billing" or "Manage Plan", and paid features stay active until the end of the current period. Akool recommends cancelling at least 24 hours before renewal.
- Your first paid subscription can be refunded if you ask within 7 calendar days of payment and have not used paid credits for a successfully completed task. Renewals, upgrades and enterprise or API commitments are not covered.
- One-time credit packs can be refunded within 7 days if none of that pack's credits were used. Overdraft credits are non-refundable.
- Unused subscription credits expire at the end of each billing period and do not roll over, except on plans that say otherwise, such as Enterprise.
- If a generation fails, the credits are returned to your account. A result you simply do not like is not treated as a failure.
Refund requests go to info@akool.com with the transaction ID, date, amount and reason. The terms require binding individual arbitration unless you mail an opt-out letter within 30 days of first accepting them.
Privacy and data handling
- The terms say your content and usage data will not be used by Akool or third parties to train machine learning models. The separate biometric notice says facial and voice data may be used to improve models only with your explicit consent.
- Akool says it does not sell, lease or trade biometric data, and you can ask for it to be deleted by emailing info@akool.com.
- The privacy policy says uploaded customer content is stored on AWS in the EEA or the US, kept for 365 days, and can be cleared by you at any time.
- The California section says Akool "sold" or "shared" identifiers and usage data with ad and analytics partners, as the CCPA defines those terms, and explains how to opt out.
The trust and safety page shows SOC 2 Type II and GDPR badges; we did not see the underlying reports, so treat these as company claims.
Who Akool suits, and who should skip it
- Good fit: marketing, training and localization teams producing avatar or translated videos in volume; creators who want face swap, video models and voice tools in one subscription.
- Think twice: if you need clear commercial rights on a small budget, since the lower plans are labeled personal; or if you rarely use credits, since they expire monthly.
- Skip: if your plan involves swapping faces or voices of people who have not agreed, which Akool's rules do not allow.
Akool coupon codes
We did not find a verified public coupon code, and we do not publish codes we cannot check. The savings Akool lists on its own site are the free plan, yearly billing (shown as 30% off on Pro, Pro Max and Business) and the 7-day refund window on a first subscription if no paid credits have been used. Any working offers we find are listed on our Akool coupons page.
Frequently asked questions
Is Akool free?
There is a free plan, but it adds a full-screen watermark, limits video to 720p and 10 minutes, and caps uploads. Watermark-free output starts with the $12 Starter plan.
Can I use Akool videos commercially?
The terms allow lawful use of your output, but the pricing table labels Starter, Pro and Pro Max as personal licenses and Business as a business license. Stock avatars have extra limits on paid ads and TV. Confirm with Akool before commercial use.
Does Akool give refunds?
Only for a first subscription within 7 days if no paid credits were used on a completed task, for unused credit packs within 7 days, or for billing errors. Renewals are not refundable.
The bottom line
Akool packs face swap, avatars, video translation, voice tools and many video models into one credit-based subscription. The free plan is useful for testing, Starter at $12 removes the watermark, and yearly billing cuts the price on Pro and above. Work out your credit needs, check the license on your plan, remember that renewals are not refundable, and use the swap and cloning tools only with the consent of the people involved.
