APL TechLoom Bliss, Breeze, Wave and Traveler: Uppers, Soles, Colors and Prices

When people picture an APL (Athletic Propulsion Labs) sneaker, they usually picture a TechLoom shoe: a seamless knit upper on a light foam sole, sold in dozens of colorways. Four models carry most of that everyday line on the site right now: the slip-on TechLoom Bliss, the laced TechLoom Breeze, the lace-optional TechLoom Wave and the travel-focused TechLoom Traveler, priced $220 to $245 for adults. Here is what each product page lists. For APL's shipping, discounts and the brand overall, see our full APL review.
At a glance Checked October 2026
All four are knit TechLoom sneakers with an 8mm drop, sold in women's and men's versions at the same price. Bliss, Breeze and Wave use APL's Propelium foam; the Traveler switches to FutureFoam with an ULTRACT outsole. APL lists all four as machine washable.
- Best for: Shoppers who want a light, easy-care knit sneaker for walking, travel, the gym or everyday wear, and who like choosing from a wide color range.
- Typical price: $220 (TechLoom Wave, TechLoom Traveler) or $245 (TechLoom Bliss, TechLoom Breeze); kids' and youth Bliss and Wave $99 to $119.
- Watch out for: Bliss and Breeze are both described as APL's "lightest running shoe ever" at 6.8 oz, and the Traveler's weight is listed two different ways (8.3 oz and 7.1 oz) on the same page.
The four TechLoom models at a glance
APL's product pages and its on-page "Find your APL style" comparison give these headline figures:
- TechLoom Bliss ($245): slip-on with an elastic strap; Propelium midsole; 8mm drop; 6.8 oz; comparison label "Best for: Lifestyle, Running," cushion level "Lightweight."
- TechLoom Breeze ($245): laced; Propelium midsole; 8mm drop; 6.8 oz; same "Lifestyle, Running" and "Lightweight" labels as the Bliss.
- TechLoom Wave ($220): laced, with laces that can be removed; Propelium midsole; 8mm drop; 7.1 oz; labeled "Running, Training."
- TechLoom Traveler ($220): slip-on; FutureFoam midsole and ULTRACT outsole; 8mm drop; labeled "Lifestyle, Training," cushion level "Responsive."
APL does not publish stack height for any of the four, so the drop and the brand's cushion labels are the only cushioning figures you can compare. Adult prices were the same across every colorway we checked, with no compare-at or markdown prices in the product feed.
TechLoom Bliss: the slip-on bestseller
APL's youth listing calls the Bliss "our best-selling TechLoom Bliss running shoe," and the women's page showed an average of about 4.8 out of 5 from more than 3,000 reviews when we checked. The listing describes a "seamless high-elastic stretch rebound TechLoom upper" with a custom-milled elastic strap across the instep in place of laces, so the shoe pulls on and off. The page subtitle says the strap comes in satin or embossed versions depending on colorway.
Underfoot is a Propelium midsole, which APL says is "designed to maximize energy generation" and to keep its structure "longer than conventional EVA," plus a durable rubber outsole with a forefoot crash pad. The listed weight is 6.8 oz in a men's size 9. The page tags it vegan and machine washable.
The Bliss had the widest spread of listings among the four Propelium models: about 21 women's and 18 men's, including duplicates. Neutrals such as White / White, Black / Black, Navy / White and Black / Black / White sit alongside Fall 2026 "Ribbed" colorways like Campus / Latte / Ribbed, Shark / Linen / Ribbed and Flamingo / Ribbed. Smaller versions are sold too: Kid's TechLoom Bliss in sizes 8 to 13 for $99 or $110 depending on colorway, and Youth's TechLoom Bliss in sizes 1 to 4 for $119.

TechLoom Breeze and TechLoom Wave: the laced options
The Breeze is the closest laced sibling to the Bliss. Its page lists the same Propelium midsole, the same rubber outsole with a forefoot crash pad, the same 8mm drop and the same 6.8 oz weight, and it uses almost word-for-word the same "our lightest running shoe ever" line. The difference is up top: an "internal speed lacing system and exposed eyelets" instead of a strap. If you prefer laces you can tighten, the Breeze is the like-for-like alternative at the same $245. Colorways included Smoke / Black / Ivory, Linen / Smoke / Ribbed, White / Chalk / Marble, Faded Peach / Fire Coral / Speckle and a men's Powder Blue / Navy / White, and a few listings run to women's 12 or men's 15.
The Wave costs $20 less at $220 and is the most adjustable of the group. APL describes a "newly developed high-elastic 3D stretch rebound TechLoom upper" with an internal cage for lockdown when the laces are pulled, an integrated loop for tucking the laces away, and a seamless design that lets you remove the laces entirely and wear it as a slip-on. It lists Propelium cushioning, an 8mm drop and 7.1 oz. The Black / White colorway is marked as part of APL's "timeless core collection," and Kid's ($110) and Youth's ($119) versions are sold.

TechLoom Traveler: the FutureFoam slip-on
The Traveler looks like a dressier Bliss but is built differently. Its upper is a slip-on "3D Stretch Rebound TechLoom" knit in a herringbone pattern with internal reinforcements, and instead of Propelium it sits on a sculpted FutureFoam midsole with an ULTRACT outsole that APL says gives "ultimate traction." The brand pitches it for "airports, cityscapes, workouts and beyond," and it appears under Lifestyle rather than Running in the menus.
It is also the only one of the four whose page makes a fit statement: "Runs true to size." The weight is less clear. The Product Information panel says 8.3 oz, while the style comparison on the same page says 7.1 oz, and neither says which size was weighed. The Traveler has the largest color range of the group, with about 29 women's and 21 men's listings, from Alabaster and Cobblestone to Heritage Blue / Navy, Fatigue / Gum and Warm Beige / Chocolate.

On a tighter budget, the older TechLoom Pro ($180, 7.9 oz, "a slightly wider toe box") and TechLoom Phantom ($205, 7.3 oz, 4-way stretch grid upper) use the same Propelium foam and 8mm drop.
Sizing, washing and returns
Women's versions run from US 5 to 11 and men's from 7 to 14 in half sizes up to 12, then whole sizes, with some colorways adding a men's 15. Every page repeats APL's unisex rule: a women's size is one and a half sizes above the men's, so a women's 9 is a men's 7.5. No width options are listed.
APL's care page names the Bliss, Breeze, Wave and Traveler among the styles that can go in a washing machine, except colorways that are metallic or contain crystals, calf hair, leather or wool. It recommends cold water, the quickest setting, a small towel in the drum, no other clothes, and air drying out of the sun, never in a dryer.
US orders over $95 ship free, so any adult pair qualifies. Product pages say you can return or exchange within 10 days of receipt; the returns page adds that shoes must be unworn and in the original, undamaged shoebox, that domestic exchanges are free, and that a flat $10 handling fee comes off mail-in refunds. Site banners advertise 10% off for joining APL text alerts; we did not find a public code for these models. Any working offers we find are listed on our APL coupons page.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the TechLoom Bliss and the TechLoom Breeze?
The closure. Both list a Propelium midsole, an 8mm drop, 6.8 oz and the same $245 price. The Bliss is a slip-on with an elastic strap; the Breeze has an internal speed lacing system with exposed eyelets.
Is the TechLoom Traveler a running shoe?
APL files it under Lifestyle and labels it "Lifestyle, Training" in its comparison tool. It uses FutureFoam and an ULTRACT outsole rather than the Propelium sole of the Bliss, Breeze and Wave.
Can TechLoom sneakers go in the washing machine?
According to APL's care page, yes for these four models, on cold and the quickest cycle, then air dry. Metallic, crystal, leather, wool and calf-hair versions are excluded.
The bottom line
The Bliss, Breeze, Wave and Traveler share an 8mm drop, a knit TechLoom upper and machine-washable care, so the choice comes down to closure and sole: strap (Bliss), laces (Breeze), removable laces (Wave) or a herringbone slip-on on FutureFoam (Traveler). Expect to pay $220 or $245, check the 1.5-size unisex conversion if your size is gone, and decide within the 10-day window.
