Bala as a Holiday Gift: Sets and Colors by Budget, What's in the Box and Shipping Timing

Bala is the Los Angeles brand behind Bala Bangles, the colorful silicone-wrapped wrist and ankle weights. Its site also sells hand weights, props, mats and dozens of bundled kits, so a matching gift is possible at most budgets. This guide sorts the listings by price, explains what comes in the box, and sets out the shipping and return timing that matters for December. For the brand, product range and policies in more depth, see our full Bala review.
At a glance Checked October 2026
The safest Bala gifts are the returnable ones: Bangles ($55 to $79 a pair), Bars ($39 to $59 a pair) and kits built around them. Every standard US order pays shipping, the brand lists 1 to 3 business days to process plus 3 to 10 business days in transit with no expedited option, and the refund window is counted from the purchase date, not from the holiday.
- Best for: Someone who walks, does Pilates or barre, or works out at home and likes gear in coordinated colors.
- Typical price: About $25 to $50 for small props, $55 to $79 for Bangles, and roughly $100 to $160 for the popular kits.
- Watch out for: No holiday shipping cutoff or extended holiday return window was published, and Beams, mats, Kettleballs, Power Rings and the Bala Bottle are final sale.
What comes in the box, and the colors to pick from
Most Bala weights are sold in pairs. According to the product pages:
- Bala Bangles: two Bangles of the weight you choose (1, 2 or 3 lb each) and a color-matched carrying case. The band adjusts to fit wrists or ankles from 5.5" to 11", so you rarely need the recipient's exact size.
- Bala Bars: two hand weights (1, 2 or 3 lb each), each 7" x 2 1/8" x 2 1/8", plus a carrying case.
- The Power Ball: one 4" ball, 2 or 3 lb. It is sold singly; the Dynamic Duo Kit ($54) contains two.
- The Bala Pilates Method: two straps with auto-adjusting wraps, a metal anchor point and a carry pouch, plus introduction and workout videos.
Five core colors, Charcoal, Blush, Sage, Sea and Sand, run across the weights, so a matching set is easiest in one of those. When we checked, Bangles were available in all five at every weight, plus Bone (2 lb), Heather (1 and 2 lb) and a Gold Glitter 2 lb pair at $69. Many collaboration colorways were sold out.
Two small extras are worth knowing about. A gift note can be added in the cart for $3. Bala also lists Personalized Bala Bangles at the standard $55, $65 and $79 prices, but the page does not explain what can be printed, how many characters fit, how long it takes or whether a personalized pair can be returned; reviews on the page mention a name imprinted on each bangle. Ask customer service before relying on it for a dated gift.

Gift ideas by budget
Under $50. Booty Bands ($25), the Power Ball ($25 for 2 lb, $35 for 3 lb), Low or High grip socks ($25 a pair), Bala Bands, a set of three fabric resistance bands with a case ($35), the Wavy Roller ($39), 1 lb or 2 lb Bala Bars ($39 or $49) and Balance Blocks ($49). Stocking-size extras start at $9 for a Bangles keychain.
$50 to $100. Bala Bangles ($55, $65 or $79), the Jump Rope ($55), the Flex & Flow Kit of Bars and Bands ($67.50), the Travel Kit of Bangles and Booty Bands ($72) and the Bala Pilates Method resistance straps ($99 medium, $119 heavy).
$100 to $200. The On-The-Go Kit of Bangles and Bars ($102.60), the Power Pairs Kit with two pairs of Bangles, one for wrists and one for ankles ($120.60), Barre at Home with Bangles, Bands and Balance Blocks ($125.10), the Pilates Essentials Kit with Bangles, Bars and Bands ($134.10) and the Starter Kit with Bangles, Bars and a Power Ring ($155.70).
$200 and up. The Weight Kit bundles Bangles, Bars, a Power Ring, a Beam and a Kettleball ($325.80), and the Mom and Me Kit has two sets of Bangles, two Wavy Mats and two pairs of High Socks ($376.20).
Kits are shown with a crossed-out compare-at price about 10% higher, and each kit has a single price whatever weights you pick. That matters on the lighter options: the On-The-Go Kit's $114 compare-at matches 2 lb Bangles ($65) plus 2 lb Bars ($49), but 1 lb Bangles and 1 lb Bars bought separately add up to $94, less than the kit. Check the cart total against single items before you check out. Some kits also include final-sale pieces, such as the Power Ring in the Starter Kit, and the policy does not say how those kits are returned.

If you are unsure of weight or color, the Play Your Way Gift Card comes in $25, $50, $100, $150, $200 and $500. Bala says it is delivered by email, carries no processing fee and the funds never expire. It is for US customers only and is final sale, and it skips shipping time entirely.

Shipping timing as listed
Bala does not publish a free-shipping threshold. Its policy says all orders to the contiguous 48 states are charged shipping because of product weight, with the cost calculated at checkout from your address and order weight. The only free-shipping route is the VIP Bala Babe membership: $96 a year (shown as $8 a month, billed annually), which includes free US shipping, 10% off every order, a welcome gift and early access to launches. It renews automatically, so it suits repeat buyers more than one-off gift shoppers.
- Processing: typically 1 to 3 business days.
- Transit: typically 3 to 10 business days. Bala offers no expedited shipping or guaranteed timelines.
- Addresses: no PO boxes, and address changes are possible only in a narrow window before the warehouse fulfills the order.
No holiday cutoff dates were posted when we checked. At the top of the listed ranges, an order could take up to 13 business days to arrive, which is more than two and a half calendar weeks, so if a gift has to land by a specific date, order at least three weeks ahead and double-check the recipient's address before paying.
Returns, exchanges and gift returns
Bala allows returns for a refund within 30 days of the date of purchase, and returns 30 to 45 days after shipment get store credit only. A gift ordered in mid-November may already be outside the refund window by the time it is unwrapped, and we did not find an extended holiday return period. Other terms:
- A $5 restocking fee applies to all returns, the return-label fee is deducted from the refund, and original shipping is not refunded.
- Exchanges ship free both ways, which is useful if the recipient wants a different weight or color.
- Gift recipients email Bala with the buyer's name or email to start a return; Bala says the giver is not notified.
- Beams, all mats, Kettleballs and Power Rings are final sale because of their weight; the Bala Bottle is final sale for hygiene reasons.
- Damaged items must be reported within 48 hours of receipt to qualify for a refund.
We did not find a published sitewide code when we checked. Any working offers we find are listed on our Bala coupons page.
Frequently asked questions
Do Bala Bangles come with a case?
Yes. Each Bangles listing includes two Bangles of the chosen weight and a color-matched carrying case. Bala Bars also include a case.
Does Bala offer free shipping for the holidays?
No threshold was published when we checked. Standard US orders are charged shipping; free US shipping comes only with the $96-a-year VIP Bala Babe membership, which renews automatically.
Can the recipient swap Bangles for a different weight?
Exchanges ship free both ways, and recipients can start one by emailing Bala. The usual return timing still applies, and the $5 restocking fee applies to returns.
The bottom line
The lowest-risk Bala gifts are Bangles, Bars, small props and kits built from them, because they can be exchanged or returned. Pick a core color, compare kit prices with single items, budget for shipping, and order early: there is no expedited option and the refund clock starts the day you buy.
