Bellami Silk Seam Clip-Ins by Length and Weight: Which Set Fits Your Hair

Bellami Hair sells its Silk Seam clip-in extensions in six lengths, from 16 to 26 inches. You do not choose the weight separately: each length comes at one fixed weight in grams, so picking a length also decides how much hair you get. That makes length the most important choice on the product page, and the one with the biggest effect on price, which runs from $205 for a 16-inch set in a dark natural shade to $715 for a 26-inch set in a multi-tone shade.

At a glance Checked October 2026

Silk Seam is Bellami's main straight clip-in line, sold in more than 40 shades. Weight rises with length but not evenly: 16 and 18 inches are both 140 grams, and the biggest jump comes at 22 inches.

  • Best for: Straight-hair shoppers with at least 6 inches of their own hair, especially fine to medium hair (the brand's own wording).
  • Typical price: $205–$650 for dark natural shades, $220–$690 for blonde and red naturals, $230–$715 for highlighted, rooted, balayage, ombre and marble shades.
  • Weights: 140 g (16 and 18 in), 180 g (20 in), 240 g (22 in), 260 g (24 in), 360 g (26 in).
  • Watch out for: Sets can only be returned or exchanged unopened, with the security seal and tester piece intact, within 90 days of delivery.

The six lengths and their weights

Every standard Silk Seam listing uses the same length and weight pairs:

  • 16 inches, 140 grams: the shortest and lightest set.
  • 18 inches, 140 grams: the same amount of hair as the 16-inch set, spread over two more inches.
  • 20 inches, 180 grams: 40 grams more than the 18-inch set.
  • 22 inches, 240 grams: the largest step up, 60 grams over the 20-inch set.
  • 24 inches, 260 grams: only 20 grams more than 22 inches.
  • 26 inches, 360 grams: 100 grams more than 24 inches, the heaviest set Bellami sells to shoppers.

Because the 18-inch set has no more hair than the 16-inch set, it will look slightly less dense at the ends. And at 22 inches the hair gets noticeably fuller, so 20 versus 22 inches is a choice between two quite different amounts of hair.

Bellami describes the hair as 100% Remy human hair and "double drawn", meaning thick from top to bottom rather than tapering at the ends.

Prices by length and shade tier

Bellami prices the same length differently depending on the shade. In the catalog we checked, the full-price listings fell into three tiers:

  • Dark natural shades (Jet Black #1, Off Black #1B, Mochachino Brown #1C, Dark Brown #2, Walnut Brown #3, Chocolate Brown #4, Chestnut Brown #6, Almond Brown #7, Ash Brown #8): 16 in $205, 18 in $230, 20 in $315, 22 in $480, 24 in $565, 26 in $650.
  • Blonde and red natural shades (for example Ash Blonde #60, Platinum Blonde #80, Beach Blonde #613, Dirty Blonde #18, Butter Blonde, Mulberry Wine #510 and Spiced Crimson #570): $220, $245, $340, $510, $600 and $690.
  • Multi-tone shades (highlights, rooted shades, balayage, ombre and marble blends): $230, $255, $350, $535, $625 and $715.

Working out the price per gram for the dark natural tier shows where the value sits: about $1.46 a gram at 16 inches, $1.64 at 18, $1.75 at 20, $2.00 at 22, $2.17 at 24 and $1.81 at 26. The 22- and 24-inch sets cost the most per gram. The 26-inch set costs less per gram than either, because it has 100 grams more hair than the 24-inch set for $85 more.

Some sizes showed temporary sale prices or were out of stock, so check the live price before you decide. Not every multi-tone shade comes in all six lengths: several balayage sets, such as Dark Brown/Dirty Blonde #2/18 and Ash Brown/Ash Blonde #8/60, were listed only at 20 and 22 inches, and the ombre sets at 18 to 22 inches.

What comes in a set

The product page's details section describes two Silk Seam pack layouts, each made of wefts in three widths:

  • 5-piece pack: two 4-inch pieces with 2 clips, two 6-inch pieces with 3 clips, and one 8-inch piece with 4 clips.
  • 7-piece pack: three 4-inch pieces with 2 clips, two 6-inch pieces with 3 clips, one 7-inch piece with 4 clips and one 8-inch piece with 4 clips.

The page does not say which lengths ship as five pieces and which as seven, so if the number of wefts matters to you, ask Bellami before ordering. Each set also includes a tester piece, which has to stay with the package if you want to return it. All clip-ins arrive with what Bellami calls a protective vitamin seal, and the brand says they need to be washed before you wear them. Washing means opening the set, so check the color first.

The textured Silk Seam line, for curly and coily hair, is built differently. Its packaging image shows ten pieces: one for just above the nape, two for the back of the head, three for the sides and four single pieces for face framing.

Matching length and weight to your hair

Bellami's own guidance is fairly short. It recommends at least 6 inches of natural hair, says Silk Seam suits all hair types "especially fine to medium hair", and points shoppers with thicker, coarser hair to its classic lace-weft clip-ins, which it says add more volume at the roots. Its length guide also tells you to measure from your crown to where you want the hair to end, using a soft tape measure, because how far the hair falls depends on your height.

Using the weights above, one way to narrow it down:

  • Fine hair around shoulder length: the 140-gram sets (16 or 18 inches) add length without a large amount of hair that is hard to hide. Pick 16 inches if you want the ends to look fuller.
  • Medium-density hair, or fine hair that is already long: the 20-inch, 180-gram set is the middle option on both length and weight.
  • Thick hair, or anyone wanting a very full long look: 22 or 24 inches at 240 to 260 grams, since a lighter set can look thin next to dense natural hair.
  • A dramatic length: the 26-inch, 360-gram set, at a high price. Bellami's length guide describes a "dramatic" category for medium to long natural hair, though it does not say which inch lengths fall into it.

For curly hair, the textured line comes in 16, 20 and 24 inches at 200, 230 and 240 grams, priced from $325 to $700. Bellami says these are measured straight, so each looks about 4 inches shorter when worn.

Ordering two sets or between lengths

If you are torn between two lengths or want extra fullness, plan around the return policy. Bellami accepts returns and exchanges within 90 days of delivery only for sets that are unopened and still sealed with the tester piece included. On its textured clip-in page, the brand suggests that shoppers who order two packs install one first and return the second, unopened, if they do not need it. The same logic works for the straight line. Original shipping is not refunded.

Frequently asked questions

Can I choose a heavier weight at the same length?

Not in the Silk Seam line. Each length is sold at one weight. To get more hair at a given length, you would need to buy a second set or move up a length.

Why does the 18-inch set cost more than the 16-inch set if both are 140 grams?

Bellami prices by length as well as weight, so the 18-inch set costs $25 more in every shade tier even though it contains the same amount of hair.

How many clip-in wefts will I get?

The product page describes a 5-piece and a 7-piece layout but does not say which lengths use which, so confirm with Bellami if you need a specific number of pieces.

The bottom line

With Silk Seam, length decides weight and weight decides how full the result looks. The 16- and 18-inch sets are the cheapest per gram, the 22-inch set is where the hair gets much fuller, and multi-tone shades cost $25 to $65 more than dark naturals at the same length. Measure your hair, settle on a length, and keep the set sealed until you are sure.
