Camp Snap Accessories and Photo Transfer: Cables, Memory Cards, Filters and Battery Tips

Camp Snap Accessories and Photo Transfer: Cables, Memory Cards, Filters and Battery Tips

A Camp Snap camera has no screen, no Wi-Fi and no app, so everything you do with the photos happens after you plug it in. That makes the cable, the memory card and a few support-page steps more important than with an ordinary digital camera. This article covers the accessories Camp Snap sells and which camera each one fits, how to get photos onto a phone or computer, memory card formatting and error codes, custom filters and firmware, and the battery and care notes the brand lists. For the cameras themselves, see our full Camp Snap review.

At a glance Checked October 2026

Most add-ons cost under $30, and the one that matters most is a USB-C cable that carries data, not just charge. Older iPhones need an SD card reader adapter, and only the Camp Snap 2 fits the waterproof case.

  • Best for: New Camp Snap owners, and gift buyers adding a strap, case or cable.
  • Typical price: Accessories $4.99 to $29.99; Camp Snap 2 Waterproof Case $27; camera bag $19.99.
  • Watch out for: Charge-only cables will not transfer photos, several add-ons showed sold out, and the site gives little general care guidance.

Accessories, and which camera each one fits

  • Dual-Function Camera Wrist Strap and USB-C Data Cable ($9.99): a wrist strap that doubles as a USB-C data cable for transfers or charging. Length and compatible models are not listed.
  • Adventure Wrist Strap ($9.99) in Blue Rush, Tangerine Drift, Strawberry Splash, Twisted Lime and Cosmic Grape, and Premium Wrist Strap ($12) in Chestnut Brown, Stealth Black and Forest Green. The cameras have strap lugs; the 110D page notes a D-ring is sold separately.
  • Camera Bag ($19.99): fits the Camp Snap and CS-PRO, with a belt loop and adjustable shoulder strap, in black, green or white.
  • Sleeping Bag Camera Carrying Case ($29.99): a sleeping-bag-style case in blue, black, green or purple, also sold in camera bundles.
  • Camp Snap 2 Waterproof Case ($27): for swimming, snorkeling and beach days. The listing says it fits the Camp Snap 2 only, not the CS-PRO or the original Camp Snap.
  • Gem Kits ($9.99): stick-on decorations in sets such as Heartthrob and Pearl Bloom.
  • CS-8 add-ons: an Accessory Starter Kit ($29.99) with a protective carry bag, lens cap and lanyard; a CS-8 Microphone ($19.99); and a separate lens cap, lanyard and case priced from $4.99 to $22.50.

When we checked, the add-ons shown on the Camp Snap 2 page were marked sold out and the CS-8 Microphone and Starter Kit showed as unavailable in the store data, so check before planning a gift around one.

Getting photos off the camera

Every current model transfers files over USB-C. What the FAQ and product pages say:

  • Use a data cable. Use the included cable or any USB-C to USB cable that supports data. The FAQ warns to check it is "a data and charging cable not just a charging cable."
  • iPhone 15 and newer: the 110D FAQ says these connect with the included USB-C cable and import through the Photos app.
  • Older Lightning iPhones: a USB-C to Lightning cable does not work. Use an SD card reader to Lightning adapter with the camera's memory card instead.
  • CS-PRO: its FAQ says direct phone transfer works only with iPhone 15 or newer or other USB-C devices, and older iPhones need a computer, since its storage is described as built in.
  • Android, Mac and PC: compatible USB-C Android devices and computers are listed as supported.

There is no app and no Wi-Fi on any model. The CS-8 creates a new video file each time you pull the trigger, so expect many short clips rather than one long one.

Memory cards, formatting and error codes

  • Capacity: the Camp Snap 2 and 110D ship with a preinstalled microSD card that holds about 2,000 photos (4GB on the 110D, which is listed as upgradeable). A maximum card size for these two is not stated. The CS-8 includes a 4GB SD card (about 30 minutes) and accepts up to 128GB.
  • Access: on the Camp Snap 2 the card sits behind a door that ships held shut with a screw, part of the kid-lock design, with a pull tab for parents once opened.
  • "FULL" error: download your photos, then reformat the card to FAT32 or exFAT.
  • "999" error: remove the card, blow air into the port and try again; email support if it continues.

Because you cannot delete shots on the camera, it is worth copying photos off and reformatting before a trip, rather than finding the card full halfway through.

Custom filters and firmware

  • Make a filter: Camp Snap offers a web tool at filters.campsnapphoto.com. Upload an image or use the default, adjust the sliders, then download a .flt file.
  • Load it (V103B and V105): copy the .flt file to the camera's root folder. "CUS" shows briefly at startup when a custom filter loads. The camera reads only one custom filter, so keep a single .flt file on it. Preset files include Standard, Black_And_White, Vintage, Kodaclone and 101Clone.
  • 110D and CS-PRO: the 110D FAQ says its custom filters are based on the CS1 and CS2 filter sets, and the CS-PRO dial has a "Build Your Own" position.
  • Firmware: the 103B update is a .bin file copied to the root folder. Keep the camera at least 50 percent charged so it does not shut off mid-update, and do not install it on the older V101.

Customizable filters work only on certain versions, so check the version on the back of the box before downloading anything.

Battery and care tips the brand lists

  • Charge: the Camp Snap 2, 110D and CS-PRO are rated at about 500 shots per charge over USB-C. No battery capacity is listed, and the CS-8 shows battery level on an analog dial.
  • Sleep mode: on the Camp Snap 2 and 110D, QuickDraw puts the camera to sleep when idle and wakes it with the shutter.
  • Before using a waterproof case (V105): the support page says to turn off auto-off by holding the shutter for 10 seconds until the camera beeps several times.
  • Lens and water: the CS-8 includes a lens cap, and no camera body is described as waterproof.

Beyond that, the site gives little general care guidance, such as cleaning or storage temperatures. For a broken camera, the FAQ says to email support, which replies within 24 hours; no warranty period is stated. Unused accessories can be returned within 30 days of delivery through the returns portal. The banner advertises free shipping on $100 or more. We did not find a published sitewide code. Any working offers we find are listed on our Camp Snap coupons page.

Frequently asked questions

Why will my Camp Snap charge but not transfer photos?

The FAQ says the most common reason is a charge-only cable. Use the included cable or another USB-C cable that supports data.

How do I get Camp Snap photos onto an older iPhone?

Use an SD card reader to Lightning adapter with the camera's memory card. A USB-C to Lightning cable does not work, according to the FAQ. For the CS-PRO, the brand says older iPhones need a computer.

Does the waterproof case fit every Camp Snap?

No. The $27 case fits the Camp Snap 2 only. The listing says it does not fit the CS-PRO or the original Camp Snap.

The bottom line

The add-on most Camp Snap owners need is a USB-C cable that carries data, plus a card reader adapter for an older iPhone. Straps, bags and the Camp Snap 2 waterproof case are inexpensive extras, but check that they fit your model and are in stock. Clear the card before trips, keep one custom filter at a time, and charge to at least half before any firmware update.
