Lumibricks Review: Light-Up Building Block Sets — Warehouses, LEGO Compatibility Claims and Warranty Explained
Lumibricks is a building-block brand that designs display sets with LED lighting built in. The pitch is bricks that glow at night, aimed mainly at grown-up builders who want a model to keep on a shelf. The range spans cozy cabins, Old West towns, cyberpunk streets, steampunk towers, medieval scenes and an officially licensed Blade Runner 2049 line. The store lists its business as Hongkong SusenGo Technology Ltd., with an address in Guangzhou, China, and it ships from warehouses in the US, Canada, Germany, the UK and China.
This review covers what Lumibricks sells, how the lighting works, what the store says about LEGO compatibility, how pricing and warehouse shipping work, and the return and warranty terms to read before you order.
At a glance Checked October 2026
Lumibricks suits adult builders who want large display sets with LED lighting built in. The main catch is choosing the right warehouse option: the Global option ships from China in 6–12 business days and may carry import duties.
- Best for: Adult builders who want a lit display model for $100–$200, collectors building a connected town, and gift buyers under $40.
- Typical price: Sets range from $23.99 to $199.99, with a typical set around $105; about half the catalogue costs $100 or more.
- Shipping: USA option: US addresses only, 3–5 business days; Global option: ships from China in 6–12 business days; cost calculated at checkout.
- Returns: 30 days from delivery; non-EU items must be unused and in original condition; you pay return shipping unless faulty or wrong.
- Watch out for: LEGO compatibility is the brand's own claim, few listings state an age, and there is no published US free-shipping threshold.
What Lumibricks sells
The store listed around 130 regular sets at the time of writing, grouped into themed series designed to sit side by side:
- Town Life: shops, cafés, a theatre and a Victorian-style train station on connectable baseplates.
- The Old West: saloons, a sheriff's office, a bank heist and stagecoaches.
- Street Fusion and Cyberpunk: skate parks, record stores, neon towers and police vehicles.
- Retro House, Farm Life, Middle Ages and Steampunk World: cabins, farmhouses, castles and a steamboat.
- Road Trip, X Series and specials: diners, a lighthouse, the Blade Runner 2049 sets and a Van Gogh-inspired LumiCanvas wall piece.
A separate "Points Redemption" section lists items such as a USB hub and display boxes. Several are marked not for sale and can only be claimed with loyalty points, even though a price is shown.
Pieces, lights and compatibility
Piece counts. Every listing has a package list. The Train Station lists 4,355 bricks and 20 LED lights. The Explorer Treehouse lists 2,466 bricks and a suggested build time of about 26 hours. Trust the package list over the marketing copy above it. The Protein Farm Living Quarters page says 2,325 pieces and 8 LED lights in its description, but 2,400 bricks and 15 LED lights in its package list.
Power. The lights run on USB, and some sets also use battery boxes. The listings we read don't make clear whether batteries are included. The FAQ says the lights are designed for a maximum of 5 volts. It also says a USB wall charger is fine for short periods but not recommended for prolonged use, and suggests a power bank.
Age guidance. Only a few listings give an explicit age. The Antique Store says it is "designed for people over 16 years of age." Most listings don't state an age at all.
Compatibility. The FAQ answers "Do the products fit with other brick products on the market?" with "Yes, of course." The brand's blog says its bricks "are fully compatible with LEGO system bricks," citing an 8.0 mm stud pitch, and notes that some colors may differ slightly. That is Lumibricks' own claim. LEGO is a trademark of the LEGO Group, and Lumibricks is not affiliated with or endorsed by LEGO.
Prices
Prices are in US dollars. Leaving out the points-only items, sets range from $23.99 to $199.99, with a typical set around $105. About half the catalogue costs $100 or more. The product options (USA, Canada, Europe, UK, Global) are warehouse choices, not sizes, and they usually carry the same price, though at least one set cost more with the Europe option. Examples at the time of writing:
- Treasure Stagecoach (307 pieces): $23.99
- Sunset Stopover (455 pieces): $29.99
- Wheat Field with Cypresses (2,632 pieces): $119.99
- Explorer Treehouse (2,466 pieces): $124.99
- Protein Farm Living Quarters (Blade Runner 2049): $134.99
- Train Station (4,355 pieces): $199.99
We found almost no crossed-out "compare at" prices, so the listed price is generally the price.
Shipping
You pick the warehouse when you choose a product option. According to the shipping page, the USA option ships from a US warehouse to US addresses only, with an estimate of 3–5 business days. The Global option ships from China in 6–12 business days, and the shipping table lists $2.99–$55.99 for China-to-US delivery. Orders are typically processed within 1–3 business days.
Shipping cost is calculated at checkout, and we did not find a published free-shipping threshold for the US. The store does not ship to PO boxes, parcel lockers or APO/FPO addresses. China shipments may carry import duties, which are the buyer's responsibility, and orders with several sets often arrive in separate parcels.
Returns and warranty
You can return items within 30 days of delivery. For non-EU customers, items must be unused and in original condition, with packaging and manuals where possible. You pay return shipping unless the item is faulty or wrong. Approved refunds usually reach your original payment method 5–10 business days after inspection.
- Free gifts: if you return a set that qualified for a gift, the gift must come back unopened, or its value is deducted from your refund.
- Cancellations: only possible before shipment. One FAQ answer still lists an older address, service@funwhole.com, while the contact page gives service@lumibricks.com.
On top of that, a 24-month limited warranty covers manufacturing defects, missing parts and shipping damage. It does not cover wear, misuse or accidental damage. You request missing bricks through a replacement-parts form.
Payment
The payment page lists credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), PayPal, Apple Pay and installment providers where available. Payments are processed through third parties such as Stripe and PayPal.
Who should buy from Lumibricks
- Adult builders who want a lit display model and are happy to spend $100–$200.
- Collectors building a town, since many sets connect on shared baseplates.
- Gift buyers looking for a small lit set under $40.
Think twice if you're buying for a young child (the store targets grown-up builders and gives few age ratings), or if you're relying on the LEGO-compatibility claim for a specific build.
