ONEVAN Review: Budget Brushless Cordless Tools — Batteries, Returns and Warranty Explained

ONEVAN is a cordless power tool brand founded in 2021 that sells impact wrenches, drills, angle grinders, garden tools and combo kits online, at prices well below the big-name tool brands. Its main selling point is that many of its tools are built to run on 18V Makita-style batteries, so you can buy a bare tool and use packs you may already own.

This review covers what ONEVAN sells, how the battery compatibility actually works, what the tools cost, and — most importantly — the shipping, return and warranty terms, which have a few details worth reading closely before you order.

What ONEVAN sells

The catalogue runs to roughly 180 products, all under the ONEVAN name. The store describes itself as both a manufacturer and a partner to other factories, and calls its cordless impact wrench its flagship product. The main groups are:

  • Automotive tools. 1/2-inch and 3/4-inch brushless impact wrenches, ratchet wrenches, polishers and grease guns.
  • Home improvement. Drills and hammer drills, angle grinders, circular and reciprocating saws, jigsaws, nailers, rivet guns, planers, paint sprayers and laser levels.
  • Garden tools. Chainsaws and pole saws, hedge trimmers, blowers, lawn trimmers, pruning shears, sprayers and pressure washers.
  • Combo kits. Two- to four-tool sets that include batteries and a charger.
  • Batteries and chargers. ONEVAN's own 18V–21V lithium packs.

The 1/2" 1200N·m brushless impact wrench — the type of tool ONEVAN calls its flagship — starts at $77.51 as a bare tool.

The battery question: read this first

Around half of the product titles carry the label "For Makita 18V Battery", and the descriptions list the specific Makita LXT-style packs they are meant to accept (BL1830, BL1840, BL1850 and similar), while excluding Makita's G-series and older Ni-Cd batteries. That compatibility is ONEVAN's own claim; Makita does not endorse these tools.

Two details complicate the picture. ONEVAN's own battery listings carry a notice that they are designed for certain Makita-style tools made in China and may not be compatible with original Makita machines. And a handful of pole tools — the telescoping chainsaw, pole saw kit and long-reach pruning shears — state that they are not compatible with original Makita batteries at all and should be used with ONEVAN packs. Voltage labelling also varies between 18V, 20V and 21V across listings.

The practical takeaway: if you plan to use existing batteries, check the compatibility line on the exact product page before you buy, and if in doubt choose a kit that includes ONEVAN batteries and a charger.

Prices

Prices are shown in US dollars by default, with a country selector covering around 40 markets. Bare tools mostly cost between about $45 and $170, and adding a two-battery kit typically adds $25–$75. A few examples at the time of writing:

  • 1/2" 1200N·m brushless impact wrench: $77.51 tool only (listed from $96.89), $105.05 with two batteries
  • 140N·m 13mm brushless drill: $84.65 tool only, $118.31 with two batteries
  • 125mm brushless angle grinder: $85.67 tool only, $113.21 with two batteries
  • 1/2" 2800N·m brushless impact wrench: $117.29 tool only (listed from $146.61)
  • 4-piece combo kit (impact wrench, grinder, drill, hammer drill, 3.0Ah batteries): $254.99
  • 18V–21V battery with charger: from $37.73

Some products show a crossed-out "regular" price with around 20% off. As always, compare the sale price on its own rather than against the reference figure.

Shipping

Shipping is free on orders over $69.99, according to the store's homepage; below that, the cost is added at checkout. The shipping policy states 1–2 working days of processing and average transit of 6–10 working days to the US, 10–15 to Canada and 4–6 within Europe, and notes that delivery times are not guaranteed. Product pages say orders are fulfilled from warehouses in Germany, France, the UK, the US and other regions, and that a multi-item order may arrive in separate parcels.

The company itself lists an address in Guangzhou, China. The store does not deliver to PO boxes or APO/FPO addresses.

Returns: 60 days, with fees for change-of-mind

You have 60 days from delivery to request a return, which is longer than many tool sellers. The terms differ depending on the reason:

  • Faulty or damaged items can be returned or exchanged free of charge; the store asks for photos and sometimes a video.
  • Change-of-mind returns are accepted, but you pay the return shipping and a 5% restocking fee is deducted. If you use the store's prepaid label, its cost and a processing fee also come off the refund.
  • You must contact support first to get the return address — returns sent without authorisation may not be refunded.
  • Cancelling within 24 hours gets a full refund; cancelling after the order ships incurs a flat $17 fee.

Warranty: the terms don't match

This is the detail to clarify before buying. The site footer promises a "1-Year Warranty", but the warranty section on the product pages we checked guarantees the tool against defects in materials and workmanship for 90 days from purchase, with "limitations apply". We could not find a separate warranty document, and claims go through the contact form, email or WhatsApp. If warranty length matters to you, ask support to confirm it in writing and keep that email with your order.

Payment

Who should buy from ONEVAN

  • DIYers who already own compatible 18V batteries and want an extra tool — an impact wrench or grinder, say — without paying big-brand prices.
  • Home mechanics looking for a budget brushless impact wrench for occasional wheel and suspension work.
  • Gardeners who want an inexpensive cordless pruning or trimming tool for light seasonal jobs.

Think twice if you rely on your tools for daily professional work, need a local service centre, or want a clearly documented long warranty — the conflicting 90-day and one-year terms are a real drawback for expensive kits.

ONEVAN coupon codes

We did not find a verified public coupon code at the time of writing, and we do not publish codes we cannot confirm. The reliable savings are the store's own sale prices, choosing a bare tool if you already own batteries, and the free shipping threshold at $69.99. Any working offers we find are listed on our ONEVAN coupons page.
