Genki Review: Switch 2 Travel Docks, Capture Cards and the Return Rules to Check

Genki designs travel docks, capture cards, chargers, cases and carry bags for handheld gaming, with most of the current range built around the Nintendo Switch 2. The site is operated by Human Things Inc., according to its footer, and many Genki products began as crowdfunding campaigns; the warranty page names Kickstarter, BackerKit and Indiegogo, and the homepage was promoting a new Kickstarter at the time of writing. Prices are in US dollars, and most items cost between $20 and $120.
This review covers what Genki sells, what each main accessory does and which devices the store says it works with, prices, shipping, the conflicting return rules, the one-year warranty and who the store suits.
At a glance Checked October 2026
Genki suits Switch 2 owners and other handheld gamers who want compact travel docks, capture cards and chargers. The main catch is that its return rules contradict each other and the refund policy excludes its main docks and capture cards, so treat a purchase as close to final.
- Best for: Switch 2 owners who travel and want to play on hotel TVs, and players who want to game or stream on a laptop or iPad.
- Typical price: Most items cost between $20 and $120; the Covert Dock 3 is $69.99, the ShadowCast 3 $59.99 and the Moonbase $119.99.
- Shipping: Free US shipping on orders over $89; the FAQ says 3–7 business days in the US and 7–14 elsewhere, the support page 5–7.
- Returns: The refund policy allows unopened returns within 42 days but excludes Covert Dock and ShadowCast; the FAQ says returns are not accepted.
- Watch out for: Clearance items are final sale, no shipping rate is published for orders under $89, and the one-year warranty cannot be extended.
What Genki sells
The catalogue is small, about 25 listings, and several older products are in clearance. The main groups are:
- Travel docks. The Covert Dock 3, a charger-sized dock with HDMI output, plus the older Covert Dock 2 and plug adapters for other countries.
- Capture cards. The ShadowCast 3 and ShadowCast 3 Pro, and the older ShadowCast 2 Pro.
- Power. The Moonbase desktop charging station, the Energy Pack magnetic power bank and Moonlink USB-C cables.
- Switch 2 cases and protection. Attack Vector grip case, Force Field 2 case, Sleeper Case and the Aegis Shield screen protector.
- Bags. The Saya Carry sling and an Urban Explorer Kit bundle.
- Audio and cables. Waveform earbuds and Genki Audio Lite adapters (both clearance), plus HDMI and USB cables.

What the main products do, and what they work with
Genki's pages are specific about compatibility, and it is worth reading them closely. Nintendo Switch, Switch 2 and Joy-Con 2 are trademarks of Nintendo; Genki states on its pages that its products are "not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Nintendo." We did not see any claim of official licensing from Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft or Valve.
- Covert Dock 3 ($69.99). A pocket-sized dock with a built-in 65W GaN charger, 4K HDMI output with HDR and VRR, a USB-A port for accessories and foldable prongs. The listing says it is compatible with Switch, Switch 2, Steam Deck and USB-C laptops. The FAQ notes that the Switch Lite cannot output video to a TV, so on that console the dock works only as a charger.
- ShadowCast 3 / 3 Pro ($59.99 / $89.99). An HDMI-to-USB-C capture card that turns a laptop or iPad into a game display. Genki calls it the "world's smallest 4K60 capture card" and lists Switch 2, PS5, Xbox and "any HDMI source", with no drivers needed. Its Genki Arcade app runs on Mac, iOS and the web; on Windows or Android, the store says it works with apps such as OBS. The page does not clearly explain what the extra $30 for the Pro version adds, so ask before choosing.
- Moonbase ($119.99). A 240W charging station with four USB-C ports (140W, 100W and two at 30W) and three AC outlets, sold with US, EU or UK plugs.
- Energy Pack ($69.99). A 10,000 mAh power bank with MagSafe and Qi2 wireless charging, 30W output, a USB-C port and a wattage display.
- Attack Vector ($29.99). A modular Switch 2 case with three swappable grip styles that the store says stays on when docking, plus a magnetic ring for the Energy Pack.

Prices
Prices are in US dollars. Cables and small accessories mostly cost $7 to $20, cases $19.99 to $49.99, and the larger tech products $59.99 to $149. Examples at the time of writing:
- Aegis Shield screen protector: $19.99
- Sleeper Case: $29.99 (listed from $42.99)
- Attack Vector: $29.99, or $39.99 with travel cover (listed from $59.99)
- ShadowCast 3: $59.99; ShadowCast 3 Pro: $89.99
- Covert Dock 3: $69.99
- Moonbase: $119.99 (listed from $139.99)
Clearance prices are steep: Waveform earbuds are $79.99 (from $99.99) and Genki Audio Lite is $3.50 (from $24.99), but clearance items are marked "all sales are final."
Shipping
The homepage advertises free US shipping on orders over $89. The store's formal shipping policy page was blank when we checked, and we found no published rate for orders under $89, so the cost is shown at checkout. Delivery estimates differ between pages: the FAQ says 3–7 business days in the US and 7–14 elsewhere, while the support page says 5–7 business days, and 7–16 days overseas.
The FAQ also says Genki cannot refund or reship for free a package marked as delivered, and may charge a reshipment fee if an item is returned to sender.
Returns: two policies that disagree
The homepage advertises a "42-Day Money-Back Guarantee", and the refund policy says:
- Returns. Unopened, unused products bought directly from Genki can be returned within 42 days of delivery for a full refund. Return shipping is refunded only if you were sent the wrong item.
- Exchanges. Within 42 days; opened items can be exchanged for the same item.
- Exclusions. The policy "excludes Covert Dock, ShadowCast, ForceField OLED, ForceField, Genki Audio and Genki Audio Lite", which covers several of the store's main products.
The FAQ contradicts this, saying Genki does "not accept returns" or refunds and will instead replace a product if you report a problem within 30 days. Clearance items are final sale. Before buying a dock or capture card, ask support at help@genkithings.com which rule applies.
Warranty
The refund page gives a one-year warranty from the date of purchase covering defects in materials and workmanship. It excludes wear and tear, modifications, misuse and accidents, and the FAQ adds that physical damage such as water or drops is not covered. The warranty applies only to purchases from genkithings.com, Kickstarter, BackerKit and Indiegogo, and cannot be extended.

Payment
Checkout icons show Visa, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Shop Pay.
Who should buy from Genki
- Switch 2 owners who travel and want to play on hotel TVs without carrying the full dock.
- Players who want to game or stream on a laptop or iPad through a small capture card.
- Desk-setup builders who want one charging hub for a laptop, handheld and phone.
- Bargain hunters comfortable with final-sale clearance items.
Think twice if you want an easy change-of-mind refund on a dock or capture card, since the published policy excludes those lines and the FAQ says returns are not accepted at all. Anyone outside the US should also budget for shipping and longer delivery.
Genki coupon codes
We did not find a verified public coupon code at the time of writing, and we do not publish codes we cannot confirm. The savings you can rely on are the store's own sale prices (such as $20 off the Moonbase and $13 off the Sleeper Case), the clearance section and free US shipping over $89. Any working offers we find are listed on our Genki coupons page.

The bottom line
Genki makes compact, travel-focused accessories for the Switch 2 and other handhelds at mid-range prices, with free US shipping over $89. The products are clearly described, but the return rules contradict each other and exclude the store's flagship docks and capture cards, so treat a purchase as close to final and confirm compatibility first.
