Heybike Review: Folding Fat-Tire E-Bikes Under $1,500, and the Return Fees to Know

Heybike is an electric bike brand selling direct to riders in the United States, with a focus on folding fat-tire e-bikes, step-through commuters and newer moto-style models. Its warranty is issued by Heybike, Inc., its payment page lists Galaxy Mobility Inc in Ontario, California, and orders ship from US warehouses in California and New Jersey. Most complete bikes cost between about $900 and $1,700, and the store also sells accessories, replacement parts and two-bike combo deals.

This review covers what Heybike sells, the specs worth comparing, prices, shipping, the return fees and what the warranty actually says.

At a glance Checked October 2026

Heybike suits riders in the lower 48 states who want a folding fat-tire or commuter e-bike at mid-range prices. The main catch is that its "14-day Free Trial" still costs $200 in return shipping, and restocking fees apply after 14 days.

  • Best for: Riders who want a folding fat-tire e-bike for roughly $1,200–$1,500, apartment dwellers and RV owners, and couples buying two bikes.
  • Typical price: Complete e-bikes run $799 to $1,699, with most popular models at $1,199 to $1,499; two-bike combos cost $1,998 to $2,998.
  • Shipping: Free on orders of $99 and above to the lower 48 states; ships within 1–3 business days, then 3–8 business days for delivery.
  • Returns: New, unused bikes: refund within 14 days, you pay $200 return shipping; 15–30 days adds a 20% restocking fee; used bikes 50%.
  • Watch out for: The two-year warranty's exclusions list has a one-week clause for frame, motor, brakes and other parts; no shipping to Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico.

What Heybike sells

The catalogue had around 30 e-bike listings, though several duplicate the same model as special-offer or combo versions. The main groups are:

  • Folding fat-tire e-bikes. The core of the range: Ranger 3.0 Pro, Mars 3.0, Mars 2.5 and Ranger S 2.0, all on 20" x 4" tires.
  • Commuter and step-through bikes. Cityscape 2.0, Venus and Hybrid, aimed at everyday riding rather than trails.
  • Moto-style and utility bikes. The new Titan street cruiser, the long-range Saturn and the mid-drive ALPHA.
  • Combo deals. Two-bike bundles at a lower combined price.
  • Accessories. Pannier bags, baskets, racks, lights, locks, mirrors, phone holders and pet-carrier kits.
  • Replacement parts. Spare batteries, chargers, displays, brakes, wheels, tires and other components for current and older models.

Specs to compare: class, range and payload

Product pages list detailed specs; these matter most when comparing models:

  • Speed class. The Titan and Ranger 3.0 Pro are listed as Class 2 (throttle, 20 mph) by default. The store says the Ranger 3.0 Pro can be switched to Class 3 (28 mph, throttle disabled) or Class 1 in the display or app, and the Titan's top speed can be raised to 28 mph "where permitted".
  • Battery and range. Listed figures are 624Wh and up to 65 miles for the Mars 3.0, 720Wh and up to 90 miles for the Ranger 3.0 Pro, and 720Wh per battery for the Titan, with up to 40 miles on one battery or 80 with two. These are maximum claims; real range varies.
  • Weight and payload. The Mars 3.0 is listed at 70 lb and the Ranger 3.0 Pro at 75 lb, both rated for 440 lb of rider plus cargo. The Titan is heavier at 85 lb and rated for 300 lb, for riders 5'3" to 6'3".
  • Motor. All three use 750W rated motors; the Mars 3.0 (95 N·m) and Ranger 3.0 Pro (80 N·m) add torque sensors.
  • Certification. Pages state UL 2849 certification. Water ratings are inconsistent: the Mars 3.0 and Ranger 3.0 Pro pages say IP65 in one section and IPX5 in their FAQs.

The new Titan ($1,399 single battery, listed down from $1,499) has a 300 lb payload limit, lower than the folding models.

Prices

Prices are in US dollars. Complete e-bikes run from $799 to $1,699, with most popular models at $1,199 to $1,499; two-bike combos cost $1,998 to $2,998. Examples at the time of writing:

  • Cityscape 2.0: $899 ($799 on a separate deal listing)
  • Mars 2.5 or Ranger S 2.0: $999
  • Mars 3.0: $1,199
  • Titan: $1,399 single battery (listed from $1,499), $1,699 dual battery (listed from $1,799)
  • Ranger 3.0 Pro: $1,499
  • Ranger 3.0 Pro-combo (two bikes): $2,598 (listed from $2,998)

Accessories mostly cost $39 to $99 and spare batteries $449 to $599; some batteries, such as the Brawn pack, can only be bought by contacting support.

Shipping

According to Heybike's shipping policy, shipping is free on orders of $99 and above to the lower 48 states, and orders under $99 cost $30. In-stock orders typically ship within 1–3 business days from warehouses in California and New Jersey, with 3–8 business days for delivery. The store does not ship to PO boxes, APO addresses, Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico.

The policy lists Canada shipping at $200 per e-bike but later says it ships to "the US only", so Canadians should confirm first. A refused or undeliverable package is charged $150.

Returns: the "free trial" has fees

Product pages advertise a "14-day Free Trial", but the return policy is more conditional than that suggests. For returns that are not about a defect:

  • New, unused bike within 14 days: full refund, but you pay return shipping of $200 per bike ($280 for the Brawn, $400 for the Hero).
  • New, unused bike within 15–30 days: the same shipping fee plus a 20% restocking fee.
  • Used bike within 30 days: return shipping plus a 50% restocking fee.
  • After 30 days: bikes cannot be returned.

Bikes with a quality issue can be returned free within 14 days; after that the store may charge some shipping. Email support@heybike.com before sending anything back; refunds take 7–14 days after inspection. Separately bought accessories have a shorter window: 7 days, with 20% (minimum $15) deducted if there is no defect.

Warranty: read the exclusions

Heybike's warranty page gives each e-bike a two-year warranty from the day you receive it, excluding wear-and-tear items such as tires, brake pads, chains and grips. Accessories bought separately get one year. However, the exclusions list on the same page names the frame, fork, motor, controller, display, brakes, lights and other parts with the note "Warranty within ONE WEEK after receiving the products. Parts damaged during use after seven days will be charged." Labor is not covered and you pay freight on warranty parts. Ask support to confirm in writing what the two years covers for your model.

Payment

Checkout icons include Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Amazon Pay and Shop Pay. Klarna offers pay in 4, pay in 30 days and monthly financing up to 24 months.

Who should buy from Heybike

  • Riders who want a folding fat-tire e-bike with full suspension and a torque sensor for roughly $1,200–$1,500.
  • Apartment dwellers and RV owners who need a bike that folds for storage.
  • Couples or families buying two bikes, where the combo listings bring the per-bike price down.

Think twice if you are not sure an e-bike suits you: the $200 return shipping on a "trial" return, plus restocking fees after 14 days, make a change of mind costly. The same goes if you live outside the lower 48 states.

Heybike coupon codes

We did not find a verified public coupon code at the time of writing, and we do not publish codes we cannot confirm. The savings you can rely on are the store's own sale prices (such as $100 off the Titan), two-bike combo pricing, an "any 3 accessories for $99" offer, and free shipping on orders of $99 or more. The site also links to Student Beans and GovX ID programs for students and the military. Any working offers we find are listed on our Heybike coupons page.
