Outrank Review: AI SEO Articles, Backlink Exchange Risks, Pricing and the 7-Day Refund

This review covers what Outrank does, what the plan and add-ons cost, the key features, how its backlink system works and the risks its own terms describe, the refund and cancellation rules, its privacy policy, and who it suits. We did not run a site on Outrank for this article; the details come from Outrank's homepage, pricing page and FAQ, backlink building page, terms of use and privacy policy.
At a glance Checked October 2026
Outrank suits site owners who want a steady flow of SEO blog posts published on autopilot and are prepared to review them. The base plan includes 30 articles a month, keyword research, AI images, unlimited users and integrations with common website platforms. Its terms say Outrank does not promise better rankings, traffic or revenue, and that automated backlinks are placed without a preview step, so the search-engine risk sits with you.
- Best for: small businesses, SaaS and e-commerce sites that want regular blog content and have someone to edit it.
- Typical price: $99/month or $999/year for 30 articles a month; +$85 or +$160 a month for 60 or 90 articles.
- Refunds: first-time subscribers only, within 7 calendar days of the first payment, once per customer.
- Watch out for: automatic publishing and backlink placement with no manual approval step for links; review settings before switching them on.
What Outrank does
Outrank describes a three-part process. First it analyzes your niche, competitors and audience and builds a 30-day content plan around keywords, one key phrase per day. Then it writes and publishes an SEO-focused article from that plan each day, with internal and external links, AI images and, where relevant, embedded YouTube videos. Finally it works on links: placing links to your site inside articles on other Outrank customers' blogs.
Other features listed on the site include:
- Keyword research chat that pulls search volume and difficulty data and lets you drag keywords onto a content calendar.
- Style matching from articles you have already published.
- Article preview: scheduled articles can be generated up to 7 days ahead so you can review, edit and approve them before they auto-publish.
- AI rewrites and manual editing, with unlimited AI rewrites on the plan.
- Underperforming article detection that suggests rewrites.
- 150+ languages, multiple sites per dashboard and unlimited team members.
- Integrations with WordPress, Webflow, Shopify, Wix, Framer, Notion, Ghost and a custom webhook, plus a REST API and developer docs. If you have no blog, Outrank offers a free hosted blog on your own domain.

The homepage leans heavily on results: customer quotes about domain rating and traffic gains, "750m+ organic views", and a study of 2,119 sites in which it says the median site reached twice its clicks after about seven months. These are Outrank's own figures and selected testimonials. SEO results vary widely with your niche, competition, site history and content quality, and Outrank's terms themselves say it does not guarantee improved rankings or traffic.
Plans and pricing
Prices are in US dollars. Outrank has one core plan and several add-ons:
- Organic Growth ($99 per month or $999 per year): 30 articles a month generated and published automatically, unlimited keyword research, automated backlink building, AI images, YouTube embeds, 150+ languages, unlimited AI rewrites, unlimited users and all integrations. The yearly price saves $189 compared with paying monthly.
- More articles: 60 a month for +$85 a month, or 90 a month for +$160 a month, per website.
- Human Curated Service ($1,399 per month): professional editors review, fact-check and polish each article before it publishes.
- Backlink plans: Premium $199, Scale $899 and Enterprise $1,899 a month for extra link credits.
- Free Tools Builder ($99 per month): one interactive SEO tool built and deployed each week.
- Premium Images ($49 per month) and a one-time Directory Submission Service ($500) to 100+ directories.
Volume discounts apply automatically for multiple sites: 10% off for 2 to 4 sites, 15% for 5 to 19 and 20% for 20 to 25. The homepage also mentions choosing 8, 30, 60 or 90 articles a month, but the pricing page lists only the 30-article plan and the 60 and 90 add-ons, so check in your account whether a smaller option exists.
Free trial
The pricing FAQ says you can sign up and see keyword research and article generation for your site before subscribing. Trial articles carry an Outrank watermark; subscribers get unmarked content. We did not see a stated trial length or article limit.

How the backlink system works, and the risks
According to Outrank's backlink page, links are built through credits. You earn credits by letting Outrank place a relevant link to another site inside the articles it writes for you, and spend them on links to your own site placed in other customers' articles. Sites with a higher domain rating earn more credits per hosted link, credits refresh daily, and paid backlink plans add more. Outrank says links sit inside article text rather than in footers or link lists, are matched for topic relevance and are checked regularly to confirm they are still live.
Outrank's terms of use are frank about the risks:
- When you activate backlink building, links are created and published automatically, with no manual preview or approval step.
- Outrank does not guarantee the safety, reputation or compliance of third-party sites, or that a backlink will improve rankings or traffic.
- Search engines may reduce visibility or penalize sites they believe use links in ways that break their rules. By using the feature you accept that risk and agree to hold Outrank harmless.
As general SEO advice, not a judgment on Outrank specifically: Google's published spam policies list link schemes, including excessive link exchanges and links placed mainly to manipulate rankings, as practices that can hurt a site's visibility. Any arrangement where your blog hosts links in return for links needs careful thought. The same caution applies to mass-published AI content: Google says it rewards helpful, original content regardless of how it is produced, but scaled content made mainly to rank can violate its policies. Keep a human in the loop, edit for accuracy and originality, and decide whether you want links to other sites inside your own articles.
Cancellation, refunds and billing
The pricing page says "Cancel anytime. No questions asked!" The refund rules in the terms are narrower:
- First-time subscribers can request a full refund within 7 calendar days of the initial subscription payment by emailing support@outrank.so.
- Refunds are limited to one per customer and go back to the original payment method.
- After 7 days, all sales are final and non-refundable, which matters most if you choose the $999 yearly plan.
Payments are handled by third-party processors, and Outrank says prices may change before purchase. The terms require you to be at least 18, and disputes go first to informal resolution through support@outrank.so for 30 days, then to binding arbitration.
Privacy and content rights
Outrank's privacy policy is brief. It says the company collects identifiers such as your name and email, content you upload, purchase records and usage data; uses them to run and improve the service, communicate with you and for marketing; and shares data with vendors and in the event of a business sale. The data controller is Outrank SAS in Paris, and requests go to support@outrank.so. The policy does not set out retention periods or say whether your content is used to train AI models.
The terms say you keep ownership of content you submit, but grant Outrank a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, sublicensable license to use, modify and publish it in connection with the service. That is broader than many tools, so read it if you plan to upload confidential material.
Who Outrank suits, and who should skip it
- Good fit: small teams that want regular blog content on autopilot and have someone to review it; agencies running several sites, where volume discounts apply.
- Try first: anyone unsure about AI article quality in their niche; use the trial and the 7-day refund window to judge real output.
- Think twice: sites in health, finance or legal topics, where errors carry higher stakes and editing time will be significant; and anyone uncomfortable hosting outbound links to other customers' sites.
- Skip: if you expect guaranteed rankings or traffic. Outrank's own terms say it promises neither.
Outrank coupon codes
We did not find a verified public coupon code, and we do not publish codes we cannot check. The savings Outrank lists on its own site are yearly billing ($999 a year, which it says saves $189), automatic volume discounts of 10% to 20% for multiple sites, a free trial with watermarked articles, and a free hosted blog. Any working offers we find are listed on our Outrank coupons page.

The bottom line
Outrank automates the most time-consuming parts of a content program: keyword planning, writing, images and publishing, at a single $99 monthly price with clear add-on costs. It can save hours, but it is not hands-off if you care about quality: plan to review every article, think carefully before enabling the backlink exchange, and treat the growth figures on the site as marketing claims. Use the trial and the 7-day refund window to judge output for your own niche before committing to a yearly plan.
