Bala Bangles 1, 2 and 3 lb Compared, Plus the Beam, Power Ring, Kettleball and Mats

Bala sells its best-known product, Bala Bangles, in three weights, and surrounds it with a wider range of weights and Pilates gear that goes up to a 35 lb bar. The numbers are easy to misread, because some items are priced per pair and others singly, and several of the heavier pieces cannot be returned. This article lines up the weights and specs as Bala lists them, with prices per pound where that helps. For shipping, returns and the brand overall, see our full Bala review.
At a glance Checked October 2026
Bangles come in 1, 2 and 3 lb per bangle, sold in pairs; there is no half-pound Bangle on the site. The only half-pound weights are the Jump Rope handles. Above 3 lb you move to the Power Ring (5 to 10 lb), Kettleball (5 to 30 lb) and Beam (15 to 35 lb), all of which are final sale.
- Best for: Shoppers deciding between Bangle weights, or between wearable weights, hand weights and heavier Bala pieces.
- Typical price: Bangles $55, $65 or $79 a pair; Bars $39 to $59 a pair; Power Ring $49 to $89; Beam $119 to $165; mats $89 to $129.
- Watch out for: Price per pound falls as weight rises, but the Power Ring, Beam, Kettleball and every mat are final sale.
Bala Bangles: 1, 2 and 3 lb side by side
Each listing is a pair, so a "2 lb" order means two 2 lb Bangles, 4 lb in total. The adjustable elastic band with a hook-and-loop fastener fits wrists or ankles from 5.5" to 11" at every weight. The bars inside are steel wrapped in silicone, and Bala says to wipe them clean rather than submerge or machine wash them.
- 1 lb ($55 a pair, about $27.50 per pound): the slimmest band. Bala lists it for long walks, Pilates, barre, arm sequences, errands and all-day wear.
- 2 lb ($65 a pair, about $16.25 per pound): labeled "Most Popular" and described as covering walking, Pilates, strength work and mixed workouts. Gold Glitter is $69.
- 3 lb ($79 a pair, about $13.17 per pound): suggested for lower-body strength sessions, controlled sets and shorter walking intervals. Bala says it is about three times as thick as the 1 lb and sits noticeably higher off the wrist.
The FAQ frames it slightly differently, recommending 1 lb for people who are already active and 2 lb for advanced users. Read together, the guidance points to 1 lb as the starting weight and 3 lb as a specialist choice. Colors are another factor: the five core colors come in all three weights, but Bone and Heather were listed only in lighter weights and many special editions were sold out.

Bangles, Bars, Power Ball and Jump Rope: the light weights
- Bala Bars: a pair of hand weights in 1, 2 or 3 lb each ($39, $49 or $59; Gold Glitter 3 lb $69), 7" x 2 1/8" x 2 1/8", steel core with a silicone grip, plus a case. Per pound, they cost less than Bangles: about $19.50 for the 1 lb pair down to about $9.83 for the 3 lb pair. One line in the details still reads "1lb or 3lb," but all three weights were for sale.
- The Power Ball: a single 4" ball in 2 lb ($25) or 3 lb ($35), made of "pop-resistant PVC." Most 2 lb colors were sold out when we checked; 3 lb was in stock in all five core colors.
- The Jump Rope: $55, with two 1/2 lb weighted handles (6" x 1.5" x 1.5"), a 10' adjustable, replaceable rope, steel, ball bearings and silicone handles.
The practical difference is how the weight is carried. Bangles strap on and leave your hands free, Bars and the Power Ball are held, and the Jump Rope puts its weight in the handles for cardio rather than adding resistance to other moves.

Heavier Bala weights: Power Ring, Kettleball and Beam
- The Power Ring: a steel-and-silicone ring in 5 lb ($49), 8 lb ($72) or 10 lb ($89); the 10 lb ring is 12" across and 1 1/2" thick. Most stock when we checked was 10 lb; 8 lb was available only in Blush and 5 lb was sold out.
- The Kettleball: a single kettlebell with a rigid handle and a soft, cushioned body, 7" x 7" x 10", in 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30 lb, priced $55, $59, $65, $69, $75 and $79. At 30 lb that is about $2.63 per pound, by far the cheapest weight per pound Bala sells.
- Bala Beam: a weighted bar, 36" x 2 1/4" x 4 1/2", steel core wrapped in silicone, in 15 lb ($119), 25 lb ($145) or 35 lb ($165). Bala lists it for squats, deadlifts, presses, rows and lunges.
All three are final sale "due to the weight of the item," and shipping is charged by weight, so a single 35 lb Beam carries both a higher shipping cost and no way back. Measure your space for the 36" Beam, and be sure of the weight before you order.

Mats and Pilates gear
- Play Mat: 71 3/8" x 26 1/2", 5 mm or 8 mm, natural rubber base and a waterproof, antimicrobial top layer. The store data lists $99 and $129 for the two thicknesses; the product page we read showed $99, so check the price for your thickness.
- Wavy Mat and Deco Mat: 5 mm, $99 each, in Bala's shaped outlines.
- Plush Mat: 10 mm foam core, $99, in Play, Wavy and Capsule shapes.
- Compact Mat: 12 mm, folds into a block, includes a low-resistance booty band, $89.
- The Bala Pilates Method: anchored resistance straps, $99 for Medium (listed at 5 to 15 lb of resistance per band) or $119 for Heavy (10 to 25 lb on the product page, 15 to 25 lb in its FAQ). Bala says you need 6 to 8 feet of space in front of the anchor.
- Smaller props: Pilates Halo $80, Essential Pilates Loops $75, Balance Blocks $49, Wavy Roller $39 (12" x 4" x 4"), Bala Bands $35 (three fabric bands, light to heavy), Booty Bands $25 and a non-weighted Pilates ball $29.
Every mat is final sale. The Pilates Method, props and bands are returnable under the standard policy.
What changes the math: shipping and final sale
Two policies shape the real cost. First, every standard US order is charged shipping by weight; there is no free-shipping threshold, only the $96-a-year VIP Bala Babe membership, which renews automatically. Second, returnable items carry a $5 restocking fee plus the return-label cost, while the Power Ring, Kettleball, Beam and mats cannot be returned at all. If you are unsure about weight, the lighter, returnable pieces are the lower-risk place to start; exchanges ship free both ways.

Frequently asked questions
Does Bala sell 0.5 lb Bangles?
Not when we checked. Bangles were listed in 1, 2 and 3 lb per bangle only. The Jump Rope is the one Bala product with 1/2 lb weights, in its handles.
Is the listed Bangle weight per bangle or per pair?
Per bangle. A 2 lb listing includes two 2 lb Bangles and a carrying case.
Which Bala weight costs least per pound?
The Kettleball, at about $2.63 per pound for 30 lb. The 35 lb Beam works out to about $4.71 per pound, while 1 lb Bangles are about $27.50.
The bottom line
Bangles are about wearable convenience rather than load: 1 lb is the all-day option, 2 lb the brand's most popular, and 3 lb a thicker choice for short lower-body work. Bars give more weight per dollar in your hands, and the Ring, Kettleball and Beam step up to real loading but cannot be returned. Pick the weight that fits how you train, then factor in shipping and the final-sale list.
