Cords Club Best-Selling Earrings Compared: Sizes, Gauges, Materials and Prices

Cords Club lists hundreds of flat back studs and hoops, but a handful of simple styles sit at the top of its best-selling sort. This article compares those best sellers side by side: the size of the front, gauge, post length, back disc, material and price, using what each product listing states. It also explains where materials differ, because not every best seller is titanium. For shipping, returns and the brand overall, see our full Cords Club review.
At a glance Checked October 2026
The best-selling studs are small, 18 gauge titanium designs between about 2mm and 4.5mm across, priced $15 to $26 a single. The two best-selling hoop styles are stainless steel, while a titanium version of the Celestial hoop and a plain titanium clicker are sold separately.
- Best for: Comparing everyday studs and hoops by size, gauge and material before you build an ear stack.
- Typical price: Studs $15 to $26 a single (pairs 10% less than two singles); hoops $22 to $43 a pair; plain titanium clicker $16 each.
- Watch out for: Essential Hoops and Celestial Hoops are stainless steel, not titanium, and design and disc sizes are not listed on every item.
What sells best at Cords Club
When we sorted the store's earrings by best-selling, the top of the list read: the 18 Gauge Flat Back Earring Post, Essential Hoops, Solitaire 3mm Flat Back Stud, Star Flat Back Stud, Micro Birthstone Flat Back Stud, Mystery Flat Back Travel Palette, Moon Flat Back Stud, Celestial Hoops, a seasonal Hallows Eve stud, Letter Flat Back Stud and Daisy Flat Back Stud. The ranking reflects the store's own sort order on the day we checked and will change, especially around seasonal launches.
The replacement post leading the list says a lot about how people buy here: many customers swap in a different post length for their piercings, so check the post section below before choosing a design.
Best-selling flat back studs compared
- Solitaire 3mm: prong-set clear stone (zirconia) about 3mm across; 18 gauge (1mm), 6mm post, 4mm back disc. $26 single, $46.80 pair. The listing notes the front edges can feel slightly sharp because of the detailing.
- Star: about 2.9mm across with zirconia; 18 gauge, 6mm post, 4mm disc. $15 single, $27 pair.
- Moon: about 3.5mm x 2.3mm with black zirconia; 18 gauge, 6mm post, 4mm disc. $15 single, $27 pair.
- Micro Birthstone: a zirconia stone about 2mm across in twelve month colors; 18 gauge, 6mm post; disc size not listed. $24 single, $43.20 pair.
- Letter: A to Z initials; 18 gauge, 6mm post; design size and disc size not listed. $17 single, $30.60 pair.
- Daisy: about 4.5mm across; 18 gauge, 6mm post, 4mm disc. $19 single, $34.20 pair.
Each of these listings describes the stud as an ASTM F136 implant-grade titanium push-pin flat back, in plain titanium or 18K gold-plated titanium. The Solitaire, Star, Moon and Daisy listings specify PVD plating; the Letter and Birthstone listings say gold-plated titanium without naming the method. If you want a size reference, the 2mm Birthstone is the most subtle, and the 4.5mm Daisy is the largest of the group.

Best-selling hoops compared
- Essential Hoops: stainless steel or 18K gold PVD-plated stainless steel; 20 gauge (0.8mm) curved posts with the rest of the hoop about 2mm thick; inner diameters from 8mm to 40mm. Sold as a pair, $22 (8mm) to $42 (40mm).
- Celestial Hoops: stainless steel or gold PVD-plated stainless steel with zirconia stones; about 20 gauge; 6mm to 20mm inner diameter. Sold as a pair, $26 to $40.
- Coffee Titanium Celestial Hoops: ASTM F136 titanium with cubic zirconia, gold PVD option; about 10mm inner diameter. The listing says they are slightly thicker than 20 gauge but thinner than 18, "technically 19 gauge." $43 a pair.
- Clicker Hoop (plain): ASTM F136 titanium or gold PVD-plated titanium; 18 gauge hinged clicker for lobe or cartilage piercings; 6mm to 12mm. Sold singly, $16 each.
All of these are clicker-style hoops. The listings warn that the post can get bumped and loosen the click, so check the fit and adjust the post until it clicks.

Materials: titanium, stainless steel and plating
The split between materials is the most important difference among the best sellers. The studs are listed as ASTM F136 implant-grade titanium, and the brand calls titanium its hypoallergenic option and says fewer than 1% of people are allergic to true implant-grade titanium; those are the brand's statements, not independent findings. The Essential and Celestial Hoops are stainless steel, and the brand's hoop charms are 316L surgical steel. If you have a known metal sensitivity, check the materials line on each listing, and choose the titanium Celestial or plain Clicker Hoop rather than assuming every hoop matches the studs.
Gold versions are plated. The FAQ says gold titanium studs carry 18K gold PVD plating, and the warranty excludes normal plating wear and fading. On water, the FAQ says 99% of the earrings are waterproof, except hand-painted statement styles, while the Essential Hoops listing still advises avoiding chlorine, salt water, lotion and perfume and rinsing after contact.
Fit, posts and buying tips
- Replacement posts: the best-selling 18 Gauge Flat Back Earring Post is ASTM F136 titanium with a 4mm disc, in 5mm, 6mm, 8mm or 10mm, $9 each. It fits flat back fronts only, not butterfly-back earrings.
- Enamel styles: the applicator listing says enamel flat backs use 20 gauge backs, so match the post to the front.
- Applicator: $16 in 18 or 20 gauge, made of titanium, for threading the post through the piercing.
- Singles vs pairs: studs are priced singly; the pair option is 10% less than two singles. Hoops above are pairs except the plain Clicker Hoop.

The bottom line
Cords Club's best sellers are small, simple 18 gauge titanium studs from $15, plus clicker hoops in a wide range of diameters. The key checks are material (the two top hoop styles are steel), front size for your placement, and post length, which is why spare posts top the sales list. Compare those details on each listing and buy pairs when you want a matching set.
