Arey Review: Gray Hair Care Prices, Subscription Terms and the First-Order Guarantee

Arey is a US haircare brand built around people who are going gray. It sells shampoo, conditioner, leave-ins, scalp serums, an overnight scalp treatment, a daily supplement and a few accessories, mostly through its own website, which ships to the United States and Canada. Single products run from about $38 to $62, sets from $85 to $354, and the core supplement-and-serum bundle costs $103 a month bought once, or less on a subscription.
This review covers what you can check before you pay: products, sizes, prices, subscription terms, shipping and the two sets of return rules. It does not assess whether the products change hair color; that is the brand's marketing claim, not something we can verify.
At a glance Checked October 2026
Arey suits shoppers who want a clean-label haircare routine aimed at graying hair and are comfortable with premium prices or an auto-ship plan. Subscriptions save 15% to 25% and ship free in the US; only the first order has a money-back guarantee.
- Best for: Shoppers with graying or gray hair who want sulfate-free, fragrance-free shampoo, conditioner and scalp care, and who prefer to buy as a routine.
- Typical price: $38–$62 for single products; $85–$185 for most sets; $354 for the full collection.
- Shipping: Free in the US on subscriptions and on orders of $100 or more; US and Canada only.
- Returns: First order: refund request within 30 days of delivery, up to $113 per order, minus a $5 fee, no return needed. Later orders: unopened items within 15 days, minus a $5 handling fee.
- Watch out for: The supplement contains Fo-Ti, and the brand's own FAQ says not to take it with a history of liver disease or while pregnant or nursing.
What Arey sells
The store listed about 40 items when we checked:
- In-shower care. Wash Shampoo, Smooth Conditioner and Masque Deep Conditioner, plus large refill pouches for the shampoo and conditioner.
- Scalp serums and treatments. To The Root Scalp Serum (daily use), Good Night, Grey (an overnight, leave-on scalp treatment), Calm It Down Scalp Serum (marketed for after sun exposure or hair dye) and Scrub Scalp Exfoliant.
- A daily supplement. Not Today, Grey, taken as two capsules a day.
- Leave-ins and styling. Mend Heat Protectant Leave-In, Live In Mist Leave-In Conditioner and Wait A Sec Dry Shampoo, a non-aerosol formula.
- Accessories. A scalp brush, comb, clip, hat, hair wrap and travel bag.
- Sets and kits. Bundles such as The System (supplement plus serum), The Shower Duo (shampoo plus conditioner), The Essentials Kit and The Full Arey.
Arey markets its line around graying hair and cites a six-month study it ran on The System with 173 participants. We have not reviewed that study and do not repeat its results; read such claims as the brand's own marketing. Its guide says the range is aimed at people in the early stages of graying (under about 30% gray).

Sizes, ingredients and how each product is used
Product pages give directions and full ingredient lists, but bottle sizes appear mainly in image descriptions rather than in a clear size field. The sizes we could confirm:
- Wash Shampoo and Smooth Conditioner: 250 ml (8.45 fl oz) each. The brand suggests using Wash three to five times a week. Smooth is described as best for fine to medium hair; Masque is aimed at medium, coarse or damaged hair.
- To The Root Scalp Serum: 66 ml (2.2 fl oz), oil-free and fragrance-free per the brand, applied daily to the scalp on wet or dry hair.
- Good Night, Grey: 40 ml (1.35 fl oz), applied to the scalp with a nozzle at bedtime and not rinsed out.
- Not Today, Grey: a jar of 60 capsules; at two a day, that is a 30-day supply.
- Mend: a leave-in cream that the brand says protects against heat styling up to 450°F.
The refill pouch sizes were not listed on the pages we read, so it is hard to compare their price per ounce with the bottles.
Arey says its products are vegan, cruelty-free, gluten-free, color-safe and made without sulfates, parabens, phthalates, synthetic fragrance and dyes. Scrub uses salicylic, glycolic and lactic acids, so patch-test it if your scalp is sensitive.
About the supplement. Not Today, Grey lists vitamin D3, vitamins B6 and B12, folate, biotin, pantothenic acid, calcium, iron, selenium and copper, plus a proprietary blend of PABA, black sesame seed extract and Fo-Ti root. It contains sesame. The brand's FAQ says each daily dose holds 10 mg of Fo-Ti, notes rare reports of liver problems linked to the herb, and advises against taking it with a history of liver disease or while pregnant or nursing. The label carries the standard FDA statement that the product has not been evaluated by the FDA and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. We make no claims about what the supplement does.

Subscription terms
Arey pushes subscriptions hard, and the terms are clearly laid out on its subscriptions page:
- Discounts: 15% off a monthly delivery, 20% off a three-month supply every three months, and 25% off a six-month supply every six months. The System, for example, drops from $103 to $87.55 a month, or to $240 per three months, or $450 per six months.
- Shipping: subscription orders ship free in the US.
- Control: you can edit products, change the frequency, skip a delivery or cancel from your account, and the brand says there is no long-term commitment or penalty.
- Reminders: an email goes out three days before each shipment, with a link to manage the order.
- Free gifts: the second subscription order includes a scalp brush, the third a seasonal gift (Mend at the time of writing) and the fifth an Arey hat.
The gift schedule rewards staying subscribed for several orders. If you only want to try a product, one-time purchase is available on every product page.

Shipping
Arey ships only to the United States and Canada. US shipping is free on subscriptions and on one-time orders of $100 or more. The brand does not publish its US rate for smaller orders, so check it at checkout. For Canadian orders, Arey says it covers $5 toward shipping, with the rest and any taxes shown at checkout.
Timing is described inconsistently. The shipping and returns page and product pages say orders ship within 7 to 10 business days, while the store's shipping policy says shipping typically takes about five business days after processing. Plan on the longer estimate if you need something by a set date.
Returns and the first-order guarantee
Arey has two sets of rules.
- First order (30-day money-back guarantee): you have 30 days from delivery to ask for a refund by emailing hey@arey.com, and you do not need to send anything back. Arey refunds the purchase price of each product up to $113 per order, minus a $5 processing fee. For three- and six-month supplies, it refunds only one month's price. The fine print also says the guarantee applies to first-time purchases of a single product per household, which reads more narrowly than the main text, so confirm what is covered before you rely on it.
- All other orders: unopened, unused items can be returned within 15 days of receiving the order, minus a $5 handling fee per order. US customers get a prepaid label; Canadian customers pay their own return shipping. Refunds go to the original payment method about five to seven business days after the return arrives.
- Lost packages: Arey says it will replace a package that never arrives, but does not refund lost or stolen items.
Who should buy from Arey
- Shoppers with graying hair who want a sulfate-free, fragrance-free shampoo and conditioner plus leave-ins for heat and UV.
- People who like routines and auto-ship, since the 15% to 25% subscription discounts and free shipping make a big difference to the price.
- First-time buyers who want a safety net, given the no-return-needed refund on a first order, within its $113 cap.
Think twice if you expect guaranteed changes in hair color, which no haircare product can promise, if you live outside the US or Canada, or if you may want to return opened products from a later order.
Arey coupon codes
We did not find a verified public code at the time of writing, and we do not publish codes we cannot check. The offers we could confirm on Arey's own site are free US shipping on orders of $100 or more, 15% to 25% off with a subscription plus free gifts on later subscription orders, and a referral program where a friend gets $20 off a first order and you get a $20 credit after they buy. Any working offers we find are listed on our Arey coupons page.
Frequently asked questions

The bottom line
Arey sells a tidy, clean-label haircare range for graying hair, with clear ingredient lists, a generous first-order guarantee and real savings for subscribers. Single products cost $38 to $62 and the core bundle $103 a month before subscription discounts. Before you buy, treat claims about hair color as the brand's marketing, read the Fo-Ti warning if you are considering the supplement, allow up to 10 business days for shipping, and remember that later orders can only be returned unopened within 15 days.
