Beckett Simonon Review: Made-to-Order Leather Shoes, the Wait Time and Sizing

Beckett Simonon sells leather shoes, boots and accessories online only, and makes every pair to order in its studio in Bogotá, Colombia. The brand says it keeps prices down by skipping wholesale and retail middlemen and by producing only what customers order. Men's dress shoes cost $249 and men's boots $279 on the site, women's flats and loafers $199, leather sneakers $179, and bags $149 to $379. The catch is time: the FAQ says orders arrive in about 10 to 12 weeks on average.

This review covers what Beckett Simonon sells, the sizing, leather and construction details worth knowing, prices, the long made-to-order wait, shipping and the 30-day return policy.

At a glance Checked October 2026

Beckett Simonon suits US shoppers who want classic full-grain leather shoes at a lower price than many traditional dress-shoe brands, and who can plan ahead. Nothing ships from stock: every order is made after you place it, so it is a poor fit for a wedding next month.

  • Best for: Men's oxfords, derbies, loafers and boots, and women's flats, loafers and boots, bought well ahead of when you need them.
  • Typical price: $249 for men's dress shoes, $219 to $249 for men's casual shoes, $279 for most men's boots, $199 for women's flats and loafers, $179 for sneakers.
  • Shipping: Free within the contiguous US; no international shipping.
  • Returns: 30 days from delivery for unworn shoes, with a free prepaid label in the contiguous US; one-year warranty against manufacturing or design defects.
  • Watch out for: A wait of roughly 8 to 12 weeks, standard D width only, and US-only delivery.

What Beckett Simonon sells

The store's product feed listed about 230 items at the time of writing. The main groups are:

  • Men's dress shoes. Oxfords, wholecuts, monkstraps, wingtips and dress loafers, such as the Dean Oxfords, Valencia Wholecuts, Hoyt Monkstraps and Weston Loafers.
  • Men's casual shoes. Derbies and loafers in calfskin, suede, nubuck and pull-up leather, including the Marlow, Theo, Fuentes and Vincent styles.
  • Boots. Chelsea, chukka, jodhpur, side-zip and lace-up boots for men, such as the Bolton Chelsea and Ellis Chukka, and Chelsea and ankle boots for women.
  • Sneakers. Minimalist leather and suede trainers for men and women, plus two golf sneakers.
  • Women's shoes. Loafers, ballet and cap-toe flats, Mary Janes, derbies, a pump and sandals.
  • Leather goods and extras. Backpacks, briefcases, weekenders, belts, wallets, slippers, a suede jacket, cedar shoe trees and Saphir shoe-care products.

Sizing, leather and construction

Because a made-to-order mistake costs weeks, the sizing details matter more here than at most shoe stores:

  • Fit: the FAQ says the shoes fit true to size with little to no break-in period, and asks you to order your Brannock (measured) size. If you do not know it, it suggests your size in dress shoes from brands like Cole Haan, Johnston & Murphy or Allen Edmonds.
  • Width: every shoe is made in a standard D width. For an E width the brand suggests going up half a size (9E becomes 9.5); for a C width, down half a size (9C becomes 8.5). There are no wide or narrow lasts.
  • Size range: men's styles in the feed run from 7 to 14, with half sizes from 8 to 11.5 only (no 7.5, 12.5 or 13.5). Women's styles run from 6 to 10 in half sizes, plus 11.
  • Leather: product pages describe full-grain calfskin from a Gold-Rated tannery in Arzignano, Italy, and the How It Works page names it as Grupo Mastrotto. Other components come from suppliers in Spain, Italy, Japan and Uruguay, according to the brand.
  • Construction: the FAQ says its Blake-stitched shoes can be resoled. Blake stitching is a common, flexible construction for dress shoes; resoling it usually needs a cobbler with a Blake machine. Some casual and women's styles use rubber, lug or TPU soles instead, so check each product page.
  • Where made: all products are handcrafted in the brand's Bogotá studio, which the brand describes as operating under ethical and fair working conditions.

Prices

Prices are in US dollars. Examples from the product feed at the time of writing:

  • Men's dress shoes (Dean, Durant, Yates Oxfords; Hoyt Monkstraps; Valencia Wholecuts): $249
  • Men's casual shoes: $219 (Asher Oxfords, Hudson Loafer, Warren Derby), $239 (Marlow Derbies) and $249 (Theo, Fuentes, Vincent)
  • Men's boots: $279 for most styles; Silva Boots $299
  • Women's flats, loafers and Mary Janes: $199; sandals $159; boots and booties $219
  • Sneakers: $179; golf sneakers $189
  • Bags: $149 (Nieto Dopp Kit) to $379 (Domingo Duffel, Birch Weekender)
  • Belts $79, wallets $79, slippers $99, Stratton suede jacket $389
  • Cedar shoe trees $39; Saphir polish and care products $22 to $45

Each listing in the feed carries a much higher compare-at figure, typically $350 to $420 for shoes and boots. Treat those as the brand's own estimate of traditional retail value, not a price anyone was charged. The homepage also advertised a limited-time intro price of $195 for the men's Marlow Derby and $149 for women's flats, applied automatically, so prices at checkout may be lower than the feed shows.

Shipping and the made-to-order wait

The FAQ says that, on average, you will receive your order within 10 to 12 weeks; a separate manufacturing answer gives 8 to 12 weeks. Orders cannot be rushed, and the brand emails production updates while your pair is being made. There is no in-stock inventory to ship faster.

  • Where: the contiguous United States only. The FAQ says international shipping is not offered because of costs, duties and taxes the brand cannot absorb. Hawaii and Alaska are not mentioned as covered by the free shipping.
  • Cost: shipping, returns and exchanges are free within the contiguous US.
  • Cancellations: the FAQ says you can cancel at any time, even once your item is in production, for a full refund.

Returns and warranty

The FAQ gives 30 days from the delivery date shown in tracking to return or exchange. Items must be unworn, in perfect condition with original tags, and sent back in the original box. To start a return, email service@beckettsimonon.com with "return" and your order number in the subject; the brand sends a prepaid label and you drop the box at UPS.

  • Refund timing: the refund is issued one business day after the brand confirms the product is unworn. Card refunds usually appear in four to seven business days; PayPal refunds appear immediately.
  • Exchanges: free, but because everything is made to order, the exact size or style you want may not be immediately available.
  • Warranty: one year against manufacturing or design defects.

Try new shoes on carpet only, since any sign of wear outside can void a return.

Who should buy from Beckett Simonon

  • Planners who are building a classic leather wardrobe and can wait two to three months.
  • Value-focused dress-shoe buyers who want full-grain leather and a resoleable construction for about $250.
  • Standard-width feet that fit a D width, or C and E widths that work with the half-size adjustment.

Look elsewhere if you need shoes for an event in the next few weeks, if you have notably wide or narrow feet, or if you live outside the contiguous US.

Beckett Simonon coupon codes

We did not find a public code we could verify at the time of writing, and we do not publish codes we cannot check. The offers on the site itself are a 15% discount on a first purchase for joining the brand's VIP email list, and limited-time intro pricing that is applied automatically (the $195 Marlow Derby and $149 women's flats when we checked). Shipping, returns and exchanges are already free in the contiguous US. Any working offers we find are listed on our Beckett Simonon coupons page.
